I think I am going to move over to Edge but leave the Lite to drop to an Everyday first then switch to Edge before 11th Sep to get it open before the first DD goes out.

I think I've got another cashback before they switch mine so I'm going to wait until my statement date. I'd rather get 123 cashback than edge. If I was mistaken it's less than a quid I'd have lost from edge anyhow.

Does anyone know if these current account changes affect the 123 Credit Card at all?

Apparently, you could originally only have a 123 Credit Card if you had a 123 Current Account (or later on, a 123 Lite). Can you now keep the 123 Credit Card even if you no longer have a 123 or 123 Lite Current Account?

I’ve never been a Santander customer myself and I’m not very familiar with all the different accounts/cards they’ve offered over the years, but a family member has asked me about this, because they have the 123 Credit Card and also the 123 Lite Current Account (which is obviously going to be changed soon, so they will no longer have either a 123 or 123 Lite Current Account). They are still deciding whether to stay with Santander (and join ‘Edge’) or leave altogether, but are wondering if they need to take the credit card into consideration as well.

    Thanks

@2013yearofthehouse there's been nothing mentioned on the Credit Card pages or here afaik, you could try posting your question there though, or ring Santander Customer Services.

There was and remains no requirement to hold a 123 current account to be eligible to continue holding the 123 Credit Card. It wasn't even a prerequisite for opening the card, but there was a promotion where the fee was waived for the first year only if you held a 123 current account.

Other than that, just branding in common.

Can someone remind me if Santander charge the £2 fee in advance or arrears?

I ask as I just had a £2 fee appear on my account dated the 20th of August!

It’s charged in advance. They will refund the fee pro rata once the change to Everyday account happens.

Mine does to, but reading the notice of variation sent, it  states that it is from 21 august, so assuming they may be doing them in tranches and the NOV also advises

"You'll receive your monthly statement after this date with details of any cash back earned and fees for maintaining the account.  Your account will be converted after you have received this."

as such as my statement date is 1st of the month I am assuming it won't convert until after the statement is issued on 1st?
