Thanks Peb, with all the redundancies it might not be a great time, but restructuring must be being thought about with them losing so many people. It could be the perfect time….. I will wait…. I hate waiting…2

I think that you were clearly meant to send it
I hope you get a positive response and not just a fobbing you off one.

I hope you get a positive response from the director. Even if it's not the right time now they should have the courtesy to let you know.
Can you just get a pack of PE tshirts for Roo to wear under his uniform? 2 for £4 from Asda https://direct.asda.com/george/school/sports-swimwear/crew-neck-school-t-shirt-2-pack/GEM895449,default,pd.html In terms of material, any old clothes/bedding etc that could be cut up?"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". I’m a little cross, I wrote a lovely reply last night and it disappeared!@debtfreewannabe321 I even have my lucky bracelet on today that May made me. But…..I still haven’t heard from director, either he’s grumpy I have even asked and thinks I should just be grateful I have my job. Or he’s speaking to HR. I think it is probably the first one…. ‘Sigh’. Feeling a bit out of sorts today, my gumption I had yesterday seems to have disappeared, and I just want to cosy up at home and be all autumnal, work is so much more than stressful, I just want to hibernate. I’m a bit cross I haven’t had a reply from director as I seem to be making decisions with no top cover. I am literally working 2-3 bands above my job description. It’s not something I can go to HR with as my director is a very grumpy man you want to stay on the right side of.
I also forgot my porridge which I am very grumpy about as I am super hungry and have already eaten my biscuits. I will have to go and get a hot chocolate to tide me over until lunch I think.Trying not to spend any money today, especially not on food. I need to be strong in this as this is where I would normally fall down. Thanks for the thought @jwil I do indeed have some old t-shirts that would work for fabric. Also thanks so much for the thoughts on t-shirts I will have a look at @sda and maybe Amazonia.
I need to do Roos application for clubs tonight with him, thinking it might not be a long drawn out process. I’m making bean chilli tonight, just the thought is making me hungry! Well hungrier….
OH talked about booking a holiday yesterday, as we both need one but i gently told him we have zero money to spend. So we are going to take some time off, probably in November, and have a holiday at home, play cards and drink wine and watch films and most importantly turn our phones off. Which will hopefully have the same effect….
Anyway must get on with work. Speak soon5 -
Sooo saw director in the canteen and he actively avoided me…… 🤦🏻♀️🤣. So I’ll just take that as a no then! Honestly!2

That's pretty poor management!
Well done on resisting the holiday. Holiday at home, just relaxing with no phones etc sounds lovely!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2 -
That’s rubbish from your director !We used to buy thermal short sleeved vests from Primark, they washed up well.Sealed pot challenge 822

What a day! Much like yesterday evening of which i spent running around for Roo to do cadets etc. And today picking both children up at school then having to fill in 3 very lengthy essay type applications for d of e and scouts I have finally stopped! I am exhausted both mentally and physically. Bring on the weekend.I feel a bit like super woman, along with helping Roo with his application, I made bean chilli, enough for tomorrow, I put a wash on, sorted mine and Roos lunch, helped May with some sewing, washed up and unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher! Oh and did the litter tray and swept the floor and wiped the worktops, amazing what you can do when you in the kitchen for 3 hours helping. Roo’s vocabulary astounded me though! He’s so clever!
iIn other news, Mays assessment came back today. She scored low in processing but was just above the mark of where they will intervene, literally by a couple on 2 other sections!!!! So they won’t do anything apart from give her 25% extra time in assessments. So frustrating, she’s 12 and spelled Italy Itily the other day 🤦🏻♀️. I feel like I’m doing something wrong between her and Roo. How can he be so bright, and May struggle so much. I may look at getting her a tutor… not that I can afford it but she really does need help.3 -
Try not to run yourself into the ground, but well done!
If May is going to get extra time for exams then the school must be doing something else as well. You don't get that without a specific need. It would be worth asking for an appointment with the SENCO and asking them about what they are doing and what you can do to support it at home. There are some different learning methods for kids with extra support needs so it's worth finding out what they use and learn how they work. A friend's daughter has dyslexia and used tic tac toe to help with English and spelling for example.
Everyone is different and learns differently and has different skills, don't think of it as doing something wrong just that we are all individual and one size doesn't fit all.2 -
You're not doing anything wrong, the children are just different and have different needs!
Well done on the productivity."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1
