    For the utility bills, probably easiest to change into your sole name and then change supplier. Before you do that though, enter a meter reading and get a bill so it will have final reading and any balance, you need this for your file. Your bill should also show your annual kWh usage which you can use when getting quotes for new supplier.

    I hope this is documented and youve told your solicitor? If you havent, then Id get the evidence together eg old emails and bank statements proving you paid off his debts from your sole money.

    I was in the same boat as you 8 years ago and to start with it is so unsettling and life feels odd but you will get through it.

    Have you been able to see a solicitor?

    I don't think you need a family one as you weren't married, a property one would be fine.
