Another Person Migrating From ESA IR To U/C Questions

As long as you keep records of orders and when you receive cash, then there is nothing to report to UC.
If you are charging your relative a fee and earning a profit which presumably you are not, then that would be a different story. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.2 -
Thanks @huckster
No, I'm not charging my relative for ordering things for them. I will from now on keep a record of the orders & when I get the cash for them with the money.
Thanks

Hi @Starbright2Just seen you posting so was wondering if you ever did get contacted by ESA to agree a Claimant Committment for New-Style ESA? i haven't and after requesting a print out of everything held about me I can see that I have had my claimant committment interview waived. It was waived on 13 June, just over 2 weeks after I claimed UC. It was the same day that my Support Group status was confirmed by the ESA-UC migration team. Interestingly, the note was made on my UC account and not my ESA account. It may also be on the ESA records - I'm guessing it probably is, but it's not easy to find anything in the ESA print-outs. It's certainly not on the notes screen on my ESA claim as the notes on my ESA account are included in the DWP reply to my my Right of Access Request. The note is under "Claim history note" on my UC records and says "NS ESA dual claim - NS ESA requirement for Claimant Committment waived.".1

@Robbie64
In regard to waiving New Style ESA claimant commitment this is up the Work Coach. If they decide to waive, this is not questioned by ESA.
Normally a Work Coach should only waive issuing a claimant commitment in limited circumstances. Such as the claimant has an appointee or the claimant lacks mental capacity to understand what they are agreeing to.
However, some Work Coaches have probably waived issuing the claimant commitments, as they did not have enough time to deal with these migration cases and all of the new claims thar have been made this year. And in June there would have been staff holiday absences.

Hi @Robbie64
No I've never heard anything about it, but I'm very pleased you took the time to post for me. At least now I know what could have happened & I can stop wondering about it now. When I spoke to the man who contacted me to verify my identity he had a look through all of the U/C claim & said he can see nothing else coming up that I need to do. So perhaps it had already been waived by then.
@huckster Thank you for that explaining that for me & hopefully more people will see it & help them understand what's going on when they don't get the call or letter too. It's good to know

I've been accepted for a housing management transfer, I've read that if the rent is more then you lose some of your transitional payment?
I'm 80% sure the new property will be lower due to it having thankfully a much smaller garden, but if it does turn out it's more will some of my transitional payment be taken away?.
Thank You0 -
Yes, any increase in your Housing Element (or any element) will see a corresponding decrease in your Transitional Protection.
This is how TP is designed to work.1 -
Sorry for another quick question,
The day after I move I will go onto U/C under report a change then where you live & what it costs, I now know to put the total rent with the sundries taken off then list the sundries after that.
But what happens with your payments while that's being sorted out? do they still pay you something?.
Thank you

Your payments will continue once you upload the new housing details; they'll then update the to-do list and increase or subtract anything owing. If your rent is paid directly to the landlord currently, inform them beforehand if they're using the portal for communicating with UC. And keep an eye on your account for to-dos to accept.1

The new Housing Element will apply to the Assessment Period in which you report the change.
So your next payment should include the new Housing Element, and reduced Transitional Protection (if applicable).1
