Really, I thought they had naturally started splitting payments, not offering people the choice. It is confusing at first, but you will eventually see some normality in the system. Until they change it for something new. As UC is knocking on a bit now. 😁
  • Do I have to report every month how much capital I have if I'm over 6k & under 16k? or is it up to you to do it if you want to?

I haven't yet because there's a whole load of life happening at the mo & none of it nice

If I do "have to" how do I report it, I'm guessing I do it under the money savings & investments section. do I need to upload bank statements & savings accounts?

    Thanks

You need to report capital over £6k at the end of each AP.  If say you reported £10k then a £69.60 deduction would be made every AP. That capital continues to be reported until it's changed. If the deduction for the next AP is the same no need to adjust the capital. If the deduction does change the capital would need to be updated.

  • Oh blast! or words to that effect.

Will I get into trouble because I haven't done it yet?.

I will have to try & work it out tomorrow. I will need to go back & try & work the blinking rules out again for what is capital. Don't worry putting it down here again I've saved it in an email just means I've got to get my none sleep addled brain to work.

    Thanks

Should have said in previous post, capital deduction is £4.35 for every £250 (or part of) over £6k. UC ends if over £16k at the end of your AP

    @HillStreetBlues

Thanks that was going to be my question is it the final figure at the end of the AP or anywhere within that month so thanks for thinking of that one yourself
  • Well I've done it.

I took the total my bank account was on 21st June & took off all the different benefits I had coming in until the end of the AP which gave me a total that I told them was my total for my bank account & then told them about my savings account total.

I hope that's right? * Peeking through fingers hoping for the best*

What happens now?. Do I get any kind of message about it in my Journal or do they just adjust the amount they pay me next time?. Because I'm late I've already had the first payment for this AP I have it paid in twice a month instead of once a month

Thanks for all your help everyone

  • Just looking at my bank account I'm not due in any more benefits for this AP so I've worked it out. It's coming up as I'm £-257 what do I do?

I have money in my account but after taking off this AP's benefits I'm left with £-257

Is that the total of everything you have or just one specific account?
