I have a savings account which only changes once a year as interest is only put on once a year & this bank account where the benefits are paid into.

The total of money I have is less that 16k but as I'm above 6k I need to calculate every month

Then total everything up you have, deduct any income received in the AP, what is left is what you report.

PS, I am aware there are a couple of threads on here which raises questions on this method of calculation but I still think it's the correct way to do it.

I have put a different main thread about this, However quick question I moved from private high price rental £300 a week to migrate to UC to a social housing lower price housing in a different area, £123 per week. I migrated on the day I moved into the new property. Would this effect my Transitional Protection money at all ? As nobody seems to know Thanks

I have answered on your new thread, basically it's going to depend on if it was a 'Managed Migration' or a 'Natural Migration'

I think the split payments have complicated this; effectively, 3 payments of UC and 2 from NSESA a month have confused them. All support payments are paid via NSESA twice a month. Rent and former disability income guarantee are now paid by UC 3 times a month. I'm unsure why they've started splitting UC payments.
They haven’t - someone would specifically have to request being paid more frequently.

(Personally I think it’s pointless when it’s a dual claim with NS ESA as you end up with all manner of small payments dotted about - it’s best in those instances that NS ESA pays fortnightly as normal, then UC rolls in once a month).

That all depends on a person's circumstances. I've seen on here that due to an addiction a person had that they asked for the payments to be broken down because when a larger amount of money hit their account they would use it for the addiction & have nothing to live on, that bigger amount of money was a trigger for that addiction in that person.

I chose to break mine down into two payments a month instead of one because for me I like to be able to pay a bill when it comes in & not to wait for another week or two to pay it. Also it's easier for me to see what money I have to play with.

Though I have to say I'm not getting on with this reporting what money I have every month yet. Especially when you come up with a £- because this month I spent more money than what I was paid in benefits even though my bank account is in credit. But only having U/C paid once a month instead of twice would not affect that,

@Robbie64 I still haven't heard anything about an appointment date for NS ESA to confirm my commitments yet but I'm not worrying because I am being paid my ESA so far anyway!

@Starbright2 I've still had no contact from ESA about moving to NS-ESA either. I can only asume that different parts of the country have different backlogs. Some people seem to have received a letter when they migrated. As you can probably tell from my avatar, I live in the Newcastle area. Perhaps the JobCentres around here are snowed under with people migrating and haven't got the staff to deal with all the people migrating.

@Robbie64 Perhaps they are prioritising the people who are not in the support group & do actually have commitments other than checking their U/C account. I'm not in the Newcastle area so that's at least two areas backlogged.

Does anyone else keep getting a letter from the council benefits manager? It's telling me that my Council tax benefit will stay the same every month because I have to keep reporting how much money I have due to having over 6k but under 16k & the amount they pay me changes every month?

I used to get that after I first migrated to UC.
Because UC is not a "passporting" benefit the council have to calculate CTR each month. And their system spits our a letter about it each month.
My own council stopped sending them after 6 months or so.
