Yes it’s fun as everyone walking past says,”You all right there?!”
  • Just cut my credit card up and deleted it off my phone. Feel very positive about this.

    Well done!

  • 6 days to payday. £10 in my bank account but no food needed. I need to bake bread rolls tonight. I’ve cancelled my beautician appointment for Saturday. Need to remake it for after payday.

Got a Waitrose order last night which I did stick on the CC. A kind of last hurrah. I only allow myself a Waitrose order when I need b** roll. It cost £65 with delivery. Probably a week’s food so about right. Probably £6-8 more than Tescos or Aldi. I have stuff to make pizza, pasta puttanesca plus fresh spaghetti and a butternut squash. I think I will use the fresh spaghetti for the pasta putt and also cacio e pepe. I’ll use the butternut squash for roasting then make a few night’s meals with it.

Roll on the weekend. I got my wool for the blanket making class I am doing in the post yesterday. Going to make a start on it at the weekend. Will watch the new Masterchef and some Netflix (£12.99/ month).

I am now paying for a productivity app called Motion. I’m not promoting it but I find it really helps me to get a lot achieved and feel like I am getting value from my life. It costs £20/ month. It is AI which I generally avoid due to the environmental burden but have decided to allow myself this little thing. I’ll use Copilot less. I never use Chat GTP.

  • I transferred £20 from my NS&I to cover the Motion sub. I think I’m treating NS&I the wrong way. I should save up in one of my throwaway savings accounts and then transfer to NS&I once I have long term savings.

  • FREEZING today. I've cranked the heating up to 24 to try and warm the room up. Gonna watch Masterchef in a minute. Thermometer is now reading 18. I need to wash up but I really can't be bothered.

I've been working at another site today. It went ok. I got some good feedback from the supervisor there via my line manager who was around today. It wasn't too boring either.

ROLL ON PAYDAY. I also have Monday off to get a smart meter fitted and have some blood taken for a massive health study I joined. I get a £10 Amazon voucher. Will have to choose something good although god knows what £10 will buy. I'll have a browse.

    Yes
No need to spend it immediately.  Just leave the £10 in your Amazon account and you can use it any time in the next 2 years so just wait until to NEED to buy something and use it then.
  • Have redone the budget for next month. I have £90 a week in incidental spends (this does include all toiletries, gifts etc, basically anything that is not food, bills and travel). Should be manageable but I start robbing from my later self early in the month and before we know it I’m skint.

I want to get my brows tinted and lip waxed, buy some posh bathroom scent from Purdy and Figg (astronomically priced cleaning company). Also need dental floss and deodorant. As we are moving back into winter I can switch to natural deodorant again. It’s pricey but I prefer it. It just doesn't keep me smelling nice in summer. Maybe next summer I’ll try it but wear perfume every day.

    I’m working overtime on Sunday.

  • Am a bit tired from work. Just waiting for my phone to charge before I go to get my brows waxed.

The weather is awful. I had a plan to go for a long walk to an art gallery this morning but ended up having to go into town. Luckily I have finally managed to vacuum my flat. I've achieved near enough nothing today. I think maybe I'm a tiny bit depressed. I did apply for some volunteering and filled out a form for a bursary to do a visible mending course. I don't think I'll get it because where it said, how would this course improve your creative practice I wrote a few things and then wrote "I'm never going to be the best knitter or sewer in the world". I don't think I've got the energy to drag myself all the way down to the South Coast for it anyway.

I'm not studying tomorrow as I'm doing overtime. This means I will have to do two units next week. I did two units last week but it was law so I just skim read them. These two are business and I want to answer the business questions for my assignment so I need to read it and take notes. I'm also annoyed as there was a local Starbucks where I could concentrate really well and just buy endless coffees and work. They have closed that one and opened one over the road and I can't concentrate properly there. I'll go at 8am and just do a couple of hours. You can only do what you can do.

Checked my pay slip, it was more than I thought. The employer contribution seems to be more than the employee contribution. I'm going to reward myself for nearly staying 3 months with some new boots. I've had my old ones about 4 years and although the soles are still fine, they give me sore feet. Boots don't last forever. Clarks, of course.

This song just came on which is very appropriate for the amount of rain we're having.

  • I was feeling annoyed about my one day weekend but I remembered I have a day off on Monday.

Am a bit annoyed I cracked and bought a pair of boots in the BF sales. I definitely wasn’t planning to buy them. So I’ve wasted £90 by Martin Lewis’s reckoning. However, it will be nice to have comfy and warm, waterproof winter boots. Yesterday I had to wear my trainers into town which really didn’t work in the rain. The only reason they were £90 was that the lady upsold me a shoecare kit. I must put “polish all my boots” on my AI productivity app. It costs £44 so I’ll keep using it for two weeks and then review how much benefit I’m getting. I absolutely must not take out any more subscriptions.

Right. Time to have some breakfast.
