Ugh. Up before work. One more day of earlies after today but then I’m onto a week of irregular shifts. Bad night last night, I couldn’t get off to sleep as I was worrying about work. I got off in the end.
I need to vacuum tonight. Also make the long planned spanakopita. It should only take around one hour, I didn’t have the energy last night.
I’m going to an exhibition opening at a local gallery tomorrow. I’m looking forward to it.I woke up to a text from a neighbour saying a parcel of hers has gone missing asking me to knock on all the neighbours doors to see if they have it as people don’t speak to her. I most certainly won’t be doing that.
Re: knives. I have a dictionary of superstitions and I looked it up. You are not supposed to give a gift of knives at all as it will “cut” the friendship! Worrying!
I really fancy a weekend or even a day in London at the moment. I’m focusing on debt though. Must be strict!Credit card 2000

Work is going ok although I’m just off the back of two weeks of earlies so a little tired. Had good supervision yesterday (1:1).
Well what else. Mr Unsuitable is still on the scene. Still unsuitable but nice to me which is where the bar is set. I am hoping to see him again before Xmas but it’s a little unlikely as I’m fairly busy. He tends to travel to see me as he lives in a house share so I tend not to invite him as I don’t want him to feel like it’s a chore. One nice thing is that he’s a fussy eater and only comes for one night usually. He doesn’t tend to eat much so although I have to clean and tidy before he comes, I don’t have to cook for him. Bliss!
I have emailed a residential art college to ask about their bursaries for short courses. I am craving a textiles course. I did two this year but they were booked on my credit card. I am looking at sewing courses. They are a very good college. They offer fine art and conservation courses. Of course it’s all very posh, however it’s great learning and very restorative. I did my two rag rugging courses there. I also like the thought of tapestry courses.
I have been thinking about what to do after my Access Course. The choices are a Geography degree, a Masters in Human Resource Management or just textile short courses. Studying on a Sunday really works for me and if I went down the textiles path I would make Sunday my textiles day. I really struggle to do any practice at the moment.
Decided not to buy the bed. My old one is comfy. I may change my mind! £215 is very good value for a bed. I need to lie in it really. I wonder if you’re allowed to try beds out in the shop. Probably not.Credit card 2000

I’m sure you are allowed to try beds out in the shops, I mean I think they will let you lay down on them etc.
Going to sleep on one for a couple of hours may not be allowed and get you some funny looks though 😆Save £12k in 2025 #32Make £2025 in 2025 #28

YesOf course you can try out the beds but quite honestly if your current one is comfy I wouldn't even consider buying another one at the moment. When you have no debts and have saved up for one that is the time to buy but only if you actually need one not just want one.1

I thought it was the other way round - the recipient should give you a small coin. That way you’re not actually giving them the knives because they’re “paying” for them.satchmo1 said:There's a superstition that one should include a silver coin (5p) with a gift of knives so that the friendship isn't cut.

I'll get her to give me 5p. I read that too, about the recipient "buying" them off you.
It's the weekend. I got pretty good feedback in my 1:1 this week. We have then around every 6 weeks. I like it there. I would still like to be a PA though. I have access to a course about Excel on my computer. I might try and do it next weekend when I do overtime. Perfect!
I have a busy weekend. Shame about the rain but we need it. Sparing a thought for flooded areas. Knitting group, two weeks of Open Uni study to try and get ahead. I'm making spinach dip instead of Spanakopita. It's a American party dish. Should do me for a few days. I would also like to swim at the open air pool.
I must must must clean, tidy and vacuum.
I am going to knit a table mat for a good friend for Xmas. I bought another friend a hand made mug (£10) and sheep soap (around £6) which I'll send to her. I am giving another friend a "voucher" for a train trip to see me. It will only cost £30 and there is a museum I want to take him to.
I am selling some wool to declutter.Credit card 2000

I’m waiting at a gig for it to start. There’s only me and one other person yet as it starts at 8. Have just done a Waitrose order. Fooood. I should be tucked up in bed as I’m super tired but I’m having a last hurrah before the six weeks of hell that is training at the new site begins.
I asked my sort of boyfriend if I should be a PA and he kind of said yep you could do it. See what my mum thinks.
I’ve had a great if busy day. I decluttered some clothes to the charity shop this morning and went to an art gallery. I missed the opening there last night due to rain and because I fell asleep so I checked it out today. Pretty good. Then I chilled around for a bit and then went to my knitting group which was heaven. Just me and one other person. We had a coffee and then went to the pub. We had a good old chat.
Tomorrow is study day. I would like to go for a ten minute open air swim as well. Then I’m meeting my hapless neighbour for a drink (should not be doing this but I’m counting it as my good deed for the day).Credit card 2000

I have posted my sold wool, the proceeds will just get me to the end of the month without busting the 2k barrier. Making bread rolls for the week now.

You are certainly allowed to lie down on beds in shops, I did this myself only last week. I agree with waiting till you need one though.1
