Part of the worry is that the surname is correct although nothing else not even the town. Yes I too worry if Sue is alright. I have notes of the phone number which is that of the North West Ambulance service on all 3 calls. I was just worried about why they thought it was me. I was born worrying & now I worry that if I really do need an ambulance they may see the details & decide it is another scam. Thanks for listening this has really helped as I can't unload to DS.2

You might try calling the ambulance service and asking them about the problem and explain to them what you said to us. Tell them it is worrying to you and you want to know what happened. You have a right to know.3

I really wouldn't worry @badmemory, it's completely normal for the brain to go into high alert when something like this happens, but don't let it wind you up all evening.
You made sure it was kosher that it was the ambulance service calling, and they were able to see your landline number so that's how they'll have been able to see your surname.
They were just checking if you were called Sue as that's the name they were told, and people go by lots of different variations on names, use middle names they prefer, adopt other ones etc.
I really think the son in his rush just got a digit wrong, or even the operator on the switchboard misheard.
I don't think there's a scam going on, and even if there were, there is absolutely no chance that you would be somehow blacklisted from accessing emergency services. I promise.
Go and pour yourself something nice, count your blessings you're able to enjoy it and that it wasn't you needing an ambulance, and raise a glass to Sue's recovery x
As @weenancyinAmerica and @beanielou say, you can call the non emergency number this evening or tomorrow to get clarification about what's occurred but I honestly don't think you have anything to worry about3 -
I am feeling a lot calmer about this but it did not help to discover that the number was not accepting incoming calls. Thanks all for calming me down. This sort of thing is always a problem when you have no-one on hand to discuss things with. I am going to shelve this for now (hopefully) & look forward to Monday. I am having a new front door fitted. A stable door so that I don't have to open the full door when someone knocks.2

Glad you're feeling better @badmemory, I expect that number isn't available to call back as it'll likely be the operations/contact centre and it would be a nightmare having people ringing it when the team is trying to reach people with emergencies, especially on a warm Saturday night! There'll be an office number you can look up on Monday3

Would love a June thread @PennysIntoPounds - summer is not for sciving after all.
Fairly productive day but way behind some of you lot who seem to accomplish millions of tasks in a day. I’m just hoping you’re all much younger and fitter than moi.
Deep cleaned the bathroom a put out some new bits (non slip bath/shower thing because I slipped and broke my wrist). Washed floor with a wet Flash Mop. I say “wet” because my DH puts these onto the mop for me. I had been complaining the mops had dried out only to discover he’d been putting these onto dry mop heads on! I kept my calm …
Researched buying a tiny greenhouse so I can try to keep some of my expensive plant buys alive through winter. Premature perhaps but I like to be prepared.Tilly Tidying andPADing in 2024 £250.62

@badmemory Sorry to hear you were unsettled by events earlier today, I hope you are feeling more at ease now. This link to NWAS https://www.nwas.nhs.uk/contact-us/ may be of interest, don't feel you have to use it.
Today's OATs included replying to an inquiry from a few weeks ago, and dealing with my floordrobe - well I can't be bothered to put it away so I will let it pile up on the blanket box robe really, but that doesn't have the same ring - this has been prompted by @rachmac3 mentioning the pile behind the door, which made me realise that I am fed up seeing the heap of clothes at the foot of the bed.
