Basically the first month after you make the claim sit back and wait the second month Two weeks in, it should be settling down to zero contact and regular payments.

So your not renting currently is that correct?

Yes I'm not renting currently as I live with family, one of whom pays the rent/mortgage.

So do I need to message them in the journal about the LCWRA component not being added then or I don't?

Is it common to receive £0 on the fifth week since applying as I thought that was the first payment date?

I'm still a little confused on the difference between new style ESA and lwcra and whether LCWRA comes under new style ESA or under the UC part?

Only KxMx said to message them and made it sound like they hadn't applied it as it wasn't on the first statement.

Because you transferred from ESA Support Group you are entitled to LCWRA element automatically from the start of your UC claim.

    LCWRA element comes under UC.

Your first statement and payment (zero award) is incorrect because they haven't added LCWRA element (£400 odd) to your entitlement before deductions.

Yes you need to tell them you are entitled to LCWRA but it's missing from your statement.

Ok I will do. Thanks for clarifying again. So that is all under UC, so what is the new style ESA then? It's a separate payment but some gets deducted from UC, but total amount is the same? Just not 100% sure how that works and how much comes fron one and how much comes from the other.

Yes message them in the (payments option) that Support Group premium is missing

Is it common to receive £0 on the fifth week since applying as I thought that was the first payment date?  Unsure but they pay odd amounts for various reasons.

You have been migrated from legacy ESA Support Group to  (New Style ESA LCWRA) but only one part of your legacy payment caused the migration.

Yes once everything is correct you will be on the same money.

New Style ESA is paid fortnightly at £281.10.

So your first UC award should have been Standard Allowance +LCWRA £809.61
    Minus £598.87 NS ESA.
    Equals £210.77 UC a month.

Your second UC award should be:
    Standard Allowance +LCWRA £823.41
    Minus £609.05 NS ESA
    Equals £214.36 UC a month

Thanks I think I was on the right track then. Is that £598.87 because there are more than 28 days in a month that £281.10 x 2 = 562.20 per 4 weeks for NS ESA?

But but because new style ESA is still paid it'd be £562.20 + £210.77 total per 4 weeks/month? Not total of £210.77 per month.

I'm not sure exactly why second month is different though. Maybe I just realised actually because I'd have transferred by then. Regardless this is the type of breakdown that is a lot easier to understand what comes from where so thanks very much.

I'll message them for sure when to say the LCWRA wasn't added. Really appreciate your help.

Thanks. I now understand it it a bit better after seeing your comment and that from KxMx about what comes from where. I just didn't understand which payment came from new style ESA and which from UC and how it was worked out.

Makes it easier to understand new style ESA is the old support part. At least I think I'm understanding where it comes from. I had trouble getting my head around that they are sperate payments but interlinked. At least I hope anyway otherwise £217 a month total would be a bit low.

Anyway thanks so much for your help.  You guys have made it sound more straight forward than when I spoke to them and I'll message them to let them know they have r added the LCWRA bit.

Correct, ESA is a weekly benefit, UC monthly and there are 4.3 weeks in a month.

To convert you multiply the weekly amount by 52 then divide by 12.

The first two months differ because of the annual benefit uprating in April.

Yes the UC is paid on top of the ESA payments with your total monthly income as per the £800 amounts listed.

Ok thank you. When I first tried reading about it I honestly thought it would take money off you for being in the LCWRA group instead of realising they are separate payments but affect each other as they're under the same collective Umbrella so to speak. Well they affect UC but it's different than just pure UC. Just given out differently.
Well I thought they took the new style from UC anyway, (which they do) but not because it's only UC being paid as I assumed. That is what I couldn't understand.

This kind of thing is hard to comprehend for me and I suspect many others so thanks for this. Really appreciate seeing it broken down as otherwise it's just hard to understand.
