I am pleased to say that I have sent my final overpayment for the year for £270 which brings my total overpayment for the year to £3740 which is £20 over my target :j

A big THANK YOU to Bellsbells for keeping this thread going.
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

I made my December OP today, of £1000. :j :j
We're now on Standard Variable rate so can overpay as much as we like in the coming months. With the overpayments and last regular payment of the year to go through in a few days we will have reduced our mortgage to below £103000 whereas on Jan 1st it was £110862. It doesn't sound that much of a reduction, (£8000 approx) since we have overpaid by £4779 but imagine if we hadn't overpaid- only £3200 would have come off the balance.

Bellsbells I will pm you when payments have all gone through- as I may makle another OP to round it down for new year:p . Hope baby is feeling better.

Well done everyone!!!! Here's to the 2009 challenge!!!

Well my regular savers are £500 a month plus an extra £500 in NOvember & extra £1000 so far in december

    My total for 2008 - £2500 smashing my 1k target :j

May end up with more from December but as I tend to move it only once paid on 1st of next month I'll count that towards 2009.
Looking for the perfect home and saving to make becoming a MFW easier

  • Hi everyone,

I have had my refund for overpayment of student loan, just under £300, topped it up by just under £100 to make my total for 2008 OP £1200 (on target).

Just a note to let anyone who paid there student loan in full to check if they have overpaid. I had paid it off quite a few years ago and they were very sneaky and wrote to me at a very old address in my old surname (when they knew my most recent address and surname), luckily my ex still lives there and told me of the letter. I think its worth checking as I questioned them as to how this can happen and they still haven't provided a satisfactory explaination!

I have pm'd bellsbells my total.

Good luck everyone, see you all on the 2009 board.

I've paid a bit more this month and my December overpayment now stands at £675.
I paid in £550 at the start of December and £125 this week (no penalties applied even though it is over £500 :D ).

Total for the year is now £5175.

I'm currently selling the junk in my garage on eBay, so I hope to add a little more before year end.

I have PM'd bellsbells with my total.
  • Can I offer a vote of thanks to bellsbells? The inspiration and enthusiasm of everybody on the thread has inspired me to start the MF journey into 2009

Good luck in 2009 with your additional "challenge"!

Don't forget that Zavarony has started the 2009 thread.

  • Final £200 of my 2008 total transferred today so thats £1000 off the mortgage this year.

    Cracking thread and great motivator.

For colic, we put our son through the Bowen Technique (nothing to do with Bullseye) and after 2 treatments (£10 each) it worked a treat.
Now I need to work out if the 2009 target should be more challenging
