  • :j Welcome to our new joiners and congratulations to Abouttimetoo, Sosh and Kezza who have all achieved their target for the year!

Thanks for all your messages of congratulations - other than the obvious tiredness all is going well - I just hope that soon he will manage on more than a 2 hour feeding cycle:eek: as my sleep is mostly taken in one hour blocks at the moment! He does manage to go a bit longer if sleeping on someones shoulder so I am really happy OH is not a work for a couple more weeks. Oh well, this phase will be over soon - he is already so much changed from when he was newborn.

  • Hi,

I have signed onto the 2009 challenge but thought I would put my progress this year on here to start me off.

I have OP £814.60 so far this year and will aim to OP by £1200 for 2008. I think I can achieve this as student loans have just told me I overpaid my loan (a few years ago) and they owe me just under £300!!!!!!!!

Congratulations on your new addition bellsbells :T
  • Hi All

New rate for mortgage is from 1/12/08, so will work out what I have to overpay for Dec once it has gone out of the bank tomorrow. Will be back later in the month, -will reach target for this year and then move over to the 2009 challenge in January.

Hope everything is going well with new baby Bellsbells - congratulations!!
Mortgage free as at 1/9/13 :j
To start work on the credit cards now!!

Only December to go - where has the year gone! Good luck everyone.

  • Well the first post is clear ready for Decembers totals. I will do a grand totals thread at the beginning of Jan listing everyones final overpayments, people who have achieved their targets and of course anyone who did it and became mortgage free!

I will also do an overall grand total of all our overpayments - now that is a number I am looking forward to seeing!

:santa2: Hi everybody - well sent off December's payment to the Mortgage Company which was £119.29. This makes a total for the year of £1779.11:j Might not have made my target of £3,000 but am still pretty pleased about what I have done and well done to everyone else who have overpayed/ reached and passed their targets:j See you all on the 2009 thread:D

  • Well I have just made my dec overpayment of £280 making a total of £3274 overpaid, 1.4% of my total mortgage debt  This does surpass my first goal of £2500 but doesn't quite make my second goal of £3500 which would have made the 1.5%. Still pleased with myself though especially considering how much everything else went up over the year. And there is a chance that DH will make a lump sum payment too! So I won't PM you Bellsbells till closer to the end of the month, just in case :)

When I think about it though this is money that would have been wasted on c**p if I hadn't been overpaying. Looking forward to 2009!

    Hi bellsbells,

My November overpayment details have not been updated, and I have posted the details on this thread during the past month.

    MFW #157
  • I completed the 2008 challenge today by making my last overpayment in 2008.

May I take this opportunity to thank Bellbells for all her input into the forum and keeping the running totals updated, this certainly motivated me to stay on track with my overpayments.

I would also like to thank all members on this forum, I may not often post messages myself but have often read others messages, again this was invaluable for helping to keep me motivated.

Hence a BIG thanks to one and all.

May I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year.
