Final £200 of my 2008 total transferred today so thats £1000 off the mortgage this year.
Cracking thread and great motivator.
For colic, we put our son through the Bowen Technique (nothing to do with Bullseye) and after 2 treatments (£10 each) it worked a treat.
Now I need to work out if the 2009 target should be more challenging
never heard of this...off to google it!

Thanks for all the messages and suggestions about coilc - at the moment he is on colief and that seems to be making a difference. Not prefect, but a great deal better. Also I have had so many of you thanking me for running this thread - that is really kind of you all. i have loved doing it and it has been a great motivator for me too. At the start of the year when I began this thread my biggest concern was wondering if anyone else would join or would I end up with no mates:rotfl:
So onto business. Final totals are coming in thick and fast and lots of people have reached their target for the year. Well done to you all! Please could you also check what you think your final total should be alongside what I have got you down as - mistakes have and will still happen!
I too am really looking forward to that final combined total of all our overpayments!

Hi,
I've just made my final overpayment for the year (see signature) and have pm'd you the details bellsbells.
I just wanted to post here to say a huge thanks you to bellsbells for running this thread and to all who post on it. I've managed to beat my goal for 2008 overpayments and it's thanks to all the inspiration, suggestions and support we see on this thread and forum.
I'm going to be a bit more ambitious with my 2009 goal and will pm details to zavarony.
Have a great Christmas everyone and keep up the MFW OP challenge in 2009MS Stalwart. Used site for >10 years :jMake Do, Mend and Minimise member - focussing on upcycling/repurposing and sewing0 -
Have also PM'd you bb.
I can't believe that I actually hit my target; I'm on maternity leave and although I have been busy eBaying and doing a bit of MBing, I never thought that it could be done!
Can't wait to start next year's now especially as I can't return to work (company no longer exists and can't afford childcare anyway).
Mortgage for Dec 2008 = £88,446
Mortgage reduced by £17987 in 2008

Well done on your achievements this year, and Good Luck for next year.0 -
Well done to everyone on the MFW forum, and a huge thanks to bellsbells for doing such a fab job.
My total for the year is £750, didn't acheive my target sadly as had to tighten our belts.
Roll on 2009! :T0 -
Managed to make my December payment early as both DH and I got paid today. Have managed to stay on target and hope to do the same for 2009. Well done everyone and have a happy healthy and peaceful Christmas.

My details are all correct - here's hoping I smash my 2009 target too :jLooking for the perfect home and saving to make becoming a MFW easier

Where else could you go and get such praise for paying off some of your mortgage? Thanks guys and gals, your support is very much appreciated.

Seeing the pitiful rates that my "instant access" account is now making I decided to tip a chunk of it (£1k) off the mortgage.
So this year we'll have managed £238k -> £231k and paid a fee for a new long fix.
And all since the OH started her maternity leave.
It's also got me wondering whether I should bother putting my 5k ex-Icesave money into a new ISA or start 2009 with a juicy overpayment.
It's hard to put a finite value on this forum, but the regular posts and hints & tips (mortgage pigs, statistics about daily cost etc) all helped me and the OH to galvanise our intent to overpay where we can. It's almost got to the point a few times where I've looked forward to pay day not to go buy stuff but to make another overpayment ! This wouldn't have happened without you lot & without Bellsbells keeping this thread moving.
So big thanks to all & happy Christmas etc,.
As I'm still a long long way from achieving the big aim of being mortgage free, I guess I'll see lots of you over on Zavaroni's thread ..../me0
