Welcome to the thread for everyone starting or continuing their MFW journey in 2009. :hello:
Many of us will want to continue the hard work that we have put in to overpaying our mortgages in 2008, and there will be those who want to start on their MFW journey - for all of us this is the place to be. :j
Please feel free to join our journey at any time and send a PM to me to be added to the list with your overpayment target for 2009 and then on a monthly basis your overpayment for the month and a year to date figure - oh and it would be really useful if you told me your MFW 2009 number too - save me going googly eyed looking for you!!
There is no cut off point for joining the thread and the challenge (except the 31st December:rotfl: ) so if at any point this year you are ready to start working on becoming mortgage free please join us!

A big thank you zaverony for continuing on bells's good work and it's lovely to see the new thread. i think i'm gonna stick with my original 2008 target of £3000 as we started off very strong at the beginning of the year but then money got tight towards the end so i don't want to up my target and then miss it by a mile! this will consist again of a £200 standing order that will not change and then anything more that we can collect through out the year through our mortgage pig quidco and clickbank, zav i'll email you closer to £2009 with my final figures. :beer: lets go guys during this time of rising prices and credit crunching let's see just how much we can save next year on our mortgage interest!I am now debt free! My plans for 2009 are to take mortgage below £90,000, as it will be approximately £98,000 at the start of 2009.
My plan is to overpay £7500 in 2009.
Aiming to overpay £625 monthly by standing order and Regular Saver (8% Fixed 12 months) account (£500/£125).
Once bitten by the MFW bug, there is no going back.0 -

I know it sounds like a lot to do in one year but a good part of this will hopefully come from selling some shares towards the end of next year.

Hi all, great to see a nice shiny new thread.
I'm in for the new year, not sure where to pitch my target next year, I started last year with £10pm and finished it with a target of £1008 so think I might give myself a target of £1,200 for the year, therefore averaging £100 per month. Achiveable some months but not all months, so in theory able to stretch us, but not so far we are miles off at the end of the year. Also as I will have to pay early repayment fees for all individual OPs over £100, anything more than that will go into a savings account for the end of the fixed period in 2013.
Looking forward to keep track of how we all do.0 -

Please add me to the list. Am very new to MFW so don't know yet what my goal for 2009 should be. Overall it is to clear £200k in 100 months so could do an average of that which would give £24k target.
