  • Hi Zavarony - can I just ask, were you related to Lena? She was my idol when I was a little girl, but had a very sad life (her not me!). Anyway don't want to get morbid, so better get on with the job in hand.

Wont know how much I can overpay until April 2009 as that's when my new year starts on my mortgage. Have 10 year fixed at 5.29% (finishes in 4 1/2 years time) and can only overpay by 5% but should be around £1800 allowed to overpay. So if you could put me down for that amount (will pm you shortly) and I will make any adjustments after April.

    Many thanks
When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying! :rotfl:

  • Hi Zavarony and thanks for starting this thread. And thanks Bells for coming up with the idea to start with :) and motivating us all so well through 2008.

I'm mostly posting just to get this thread up on my usercp. I'll be in definitely for 2009 but I have three big things to consider:
    • Our fixed rate will come to an end at end of July
    • I'm due a payrise before the end of the year
    • DH will be getting a lump sum soon and wants to put some in, but I don't know yet how much
At least the latter two of these should be sorted out before end of year, as for the fixed rate, who knows how this will go but my hope is downwards :) which would leave a bit of slack for overpaying.

My guess would be that I'll be in for around £300 a month from January but I'll confirm once I've had a chance to work through the finances :)

In the meantime welcome to the newbies. It's great to think money I would have frittered away on eating out or buying expensive bath stuff is going towards our future :)

    Hi,
Could I please join for 2009?
We have a Oneaccount and I want to get down to the next interest level, which means I need to bring my facility down by about £7000. Its difficult to work out what exact normal monthly payments are, so I'm going to go on normal payments totaling about £3000 for the year, which brings me to a total for overpayments of £4000.
So, just to clarify, please put me down for £4000.
Do I need to send a pm to anyone for a number etc?

    Cheers
