Basically it means EV's will remain exclusive to home occupiers with thier own off-road parking or owner will be forced to charge up at office/garage/charging points thereby losing any saving over IC cars...

TooManyPoints said:You misunderstand. Why I'm surprised is that, regardless of what councils allow or don't allow, many drivers are unable to routinely park near to their houses. So there would be little point in them paying to have a gully or pole installed.
I suppose they have done their research but I would be surprised if there was much of a market for those products.

1. - TM3 cannot select "drive" while plugged in. I understand that to be the case for most (all?) EVs.
2. - The generator would still need an EV charger mounted to provide the power to the car, not direct from the generator as shown. Generator - wall charger - EV.

Generator - wall charger - EV.1) correct- I can't imagine that there is any EV that will move whilst charging from an external source.2) An AC "charger" is just a mains connection that puts out a 12V pwm signal to the EV on the signalling pin to tell it how much current it can pull from the mains. So a tiny circuit connected to the cable would suffice. (The DC fast chargers are actually chargers in the conventional sense, just controlled by car)3) That generator is massively overfuelling- it shouldn't blow black smoke! (and either there is a very strong tail-wind or the car is reversing...)4) At least they have the right vehicle as Teslas are type approved for towing.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
