Sorry just curious, I'm assuming these aren't actually worthless, but if they are why would you gift them to a charity?HonestJohn said:
I gifted some worthless shares to charity and told them not to transfer my account. Will now have to close the iii account when it is active.Hoenir said:
There's likely to be many accounts with zero balances. Jarvis will have no idea which ones are redundant.HonestJohn said:
My account was inactive. I thought it would be automatically closed.Hoenir said:
Why hasn't your new platform instigatated your requested transfer?HonestJohn said:This has happened to me despite requesting I was not transferred.0 -
They would cost me more to sell than they are worth. The charity probably get a concessionary rate or can aggregate them. I just wanted shot of my X-O account.Ash_Pole said:

As Hoenir stated Jarvis will probably automatically transfer inactive accounts with no balance to Interactive Investor come the cut off date. Avoid any chance of being charged a monthly fee further down the line by closing the account now by email and get a confirmation email back from Jarvis.

You didn't tell Jarvis to close the the account though. That's the bottom line. In plain English "Not to transfer" suggests you were making alternative arrangements.HonestJohn said:

Anybody wanting to check if they have been transferred could try logging into ii with their X-O email and clicking 'forgot my password'Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning. Albert Einstein0

That's what I did a while back after the news came out about the closure of X-O and the transfer plan.where_are_we said:HonestJohn said:

I had an empty and inactive GIA. I didn't want this to transfer, with the risk of incurring a platform fee. I emailed Jarvis and asked them to close my account. They confirmed by email very quickly that this had been done.1 -
I tried to do the same but had some worthless shares so couldn't close the account. I completed the form for share gifting and have now managed to close my accounts via email. Now when I log in to xo there are no accounts visible.Hattie627 said:

I'd say not. My GIA has now gone. No access to historic documents.Ash_Pole said:Also do we know if Jarvis will produced a tax statement for 2024/25 before they finally close? My transfer to IWeb has happened some time last week, but not sure when. My historic documents are still available on X-O, but I had to perform a search before anything was displayed. Also (and apologies if anyone has already mentioned this) there's now a banner on the X-O website to say consolidated tax statements will be available at the end of June.0 -
Where did you get the form to gift the shares (can't see one on the X-O site) ? Were the shares you gifted still listed on an exchange and had some value, even if very negligible, or were they totally worthless or delisted shares? I've got some delisted shares, which from the latest liquidator's report posted on Companies House, are unlikely to be worth a bean that I want to get removed from my account before it transfers.Gambler said:

I explained my position in an email to Jarvis and they sent me a pdf to fill in. Mine included a delisted company and a suspended company.Shedman said:
