I'm moving mine to IWeb, who are operated by Halifax Share Dealing Limited. There are no joining, monthly or inactivity fees and they charge a flat fee of £5 per trade for UK shares.KTF said:I hold a small amount of shares with x-o and don't really want to pay the iii fee after the 6 month grace period.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how/where I can transfer them to?

KTF - another vote in favour of a transfer to IWeb. Hopefully they do not increase there charges in the near future. My ISA transfer from x-o to IWeb has been completed efficiently in a reasonable time frame. Obviously time will tell how good a service they will provide.0

I'd also be interested if anyone knows about lightyear. I'd never heard of it but may be worth looking into.Electrickery said:Curious that nobody seems to have mentioned lightyear yet? They appear to bea fairly straightforward exec only dealing site, £1 trading fee, no holding chargesand pay interest on cash held in the account (plus also have a cash ISA too).Anyone had any experience of this company. It was a lot more straightforwardto set up than the others I tried and seems to handle electronic transfer easily.0 -
Thanks for the IWeb recommendations. I have opened an account with them and will transfer over.
I will probably wait until the move to iii is complete as they do electronic transfers where Jarvis is a signature on a paper. Given there are no charges for iii for 6 months there is no rush to transfer but didnt know who was the best alternative to use.0 -
If Jarvis require a wet signature, isn't there a chance one would be needed for the transfer to II ? I guess others may be able to confirm.KTF said:Thanks for the IWeb recommendations. I have opened an account with them and will transfer over.

(discussed earlier in the thread)In effect you've got nothing to lose by starting the process now... if they do post you a form for wet signature (and there's no pre-paid reply envelope) then you could just ignore it if you want and wait for the move to ii.1 -
There is no wet signature requirement (although they say it). It's an electronic signature required, that comes through in a few days.0

Thanks for the tips regarding IWeb's form options for transferring in from X-O as I would have instinctively gone for the print-at-home option to save time, if I hadn't been aware that the send-by-mail option actually allowed an electronic signature.
For anyone else looking to do this, the invitation to sign the online form came within 2 hours today and only took a minute or two to read through and sign.

Yes, the email came as a surprise... I went with the post-it-to-me option thinking they might also include a reply-paid envelope so it would save me the cost of a stamp. Turned out to be the faster and cheaper option.refluxer said:Thanks for the tips regarding IWeb's form options for transferring in from X-O as I would have instinctively gone for the print-at-home option to save time, if I hadn't been aware that the send-by-mail option actually allowed an electronic signature.

Can the pdf file be signed using any basic PDF reader application? I recently downloaded PDF gear but can get the free Adobe reader if required.0
