New Lloyds Premier current account

The rules only say "You'll need to pay in £5,000 each month or have £100,000 of qualifying savings or investments with us."WillPS said:
I suspect it will suffice for the fee waiver, but I'd be less confident Lloyds will view it as sufficient for maintaining eligibility.Middle_of_the_Road said:
It does with Club Lloyds. I send £1.5k to a classic account, and transfer it to CLjbrassy said:
Yes, that is correct. That is what I've been doing for the past year with Club Lloyds and what I'm going to do with the Premier account. I have a standing order each month which pays £5k in and another standing order which transfers most of it back out.PinMonkey said:Am I right in thinking that to get the £15 monthly fee waived the £5000 monthly payment can just be transferred in from say another bank or savings account and then transferred back out?
I don't think this trick would work if you just transferred in from another Lloyds account.
They don't specify where the £5,000 per month must, or must not, come from.
If Lloyds wanted to restrict it to a salary, or to payments from outside Lloyds, then they should have specified that in the rules, but they haven't done, so they can't turn round and say you're not eligible for the account when you're simply keeping to the rules that Lloyds have written.1 -
True, there's no differentiation I can see between the requirements for both Club Lloyds and Lloyds Premier, both are "pay in £x000".Middle_of_the_Road said:
I think it would. It's not like other premier accounts, which specify a certain annual salary.WillPS said:

Had a missed call this morning from Lloyds, they left a message saying they were just calling in regards to the Lloyds Premier account "nothing to worry about" and they'll try calling back later. I've only had the account for a week or so. Anyone else had lloyds attempt to contact them?

I got txt this morning from Stuart saying he will ring between noon and 12:30pm today. Rang Lloyds who had no record of an appointment but the agent said he would look into it and let Stuart know I don't want a call. Almost noon now so will see if he ringsSPRichards said:Had a missed call this morning from Lloyds, they left a message saying they were just calling in regards to the Lloyds Premier account "nothing to worry about" and they'll try calling back later. They will probably try ringing everybody who's opened a premier account. It will only be to try and flog them something.2

I'm willing to bet my last Rolo it will be along the lines of "Have you heard of our partners, Schroders, and everything they can offer? Shall I book in a no-obligation call with them for you?"EarthBoy said:They will probably try ringing everybody who's opened a premier account. It will only be to try and flog them something.3 -
Had this with Skipton today when on the phone. Free 10 minute financial health check. Very sales orientated patter.PloughmansLunch said:

I've got Phone, Texts, Device messaging set to 'no' in app marketing choices. Will see if that saves me from Lloyds Premier follow-up sales pitches.2 -
Well it is now 14:10 and no call. Good.Malchester said:

No attempted call backs yet either, so must be as people have said, trying to flog something. And nothing actually important. Glad I wasn't the only one tho I suppose.
