Why has page 1 disappeared?

Why has the option to go back to page 1 on longer threads on mobile view disappeared? 

If I want to go back to the first page I now have to click the back button 237 times in the example above

Try (physically) turning phone to landscape for any occasion u need this.

Thanks but never had this problem on portrait before. Always had the choice of first page or last page.

Hi,

Could I double-check that this is definitely a change that everyone is seeing? - or has it always been like this?

We know the page-picker isn't as good as we would want it to be.

As previously mentioned on Site Feedback, we hope to move to a new version of page layouts that have much better controls, so it's unlikely we'll see any improvement to the legacy format we're using, but we definitely want to make sure the controls aren't getting any worse.

Same problem here on the long spam thread - no link to p. 1 in portrait mode but rotate to landscape and it and other links appear.

@MSE_Stephen I was beginning to doubt myself but I found a previous post in another thread (link below) where the screenshot clearly shows page 1 was available in portrait mode. So I definitely believe this is a change

That's really helpful. I've asked our provider to look into this.

It should definitely be easy to get back to the first page!

Has something happened to the MSE app or is it just on my phone? No longer seem able to get to page one of threads without going backwards page by page, which is far from ideal, especially on this particular one!!!!

I just checked MSE on my phone APP and thought that it might have updated which is why there maybe an issue with having to go backwards one page at a time. I've now updated the MSE App but the issue remains, for now.
