I did my quarterly financial review, mostly in the hope that it stops me both from frittering and from fretting about going back to work or not.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Still under the weather but managed to drag myself outdoors to have the gel polish soaked off my toenails prior to my chiropodist’s visit next week. It’s an undercover operation because my lovely chiropodist doesn’t approve of gel polish but my equally delightful nail lady does a professional job so as long as the two never meet we’re all happy. The joys of being retired after working full time all my life!
So actually no serious OATS but have to tell you all I am super excited two of my Morning Glory seeds have germinated after just a week. I have plans for these little plants and have decided to put them into pots with chives and mint at the bottom of two drain pipes. I understand my detested little slimy friends don’t like certain herbs so perhaps the companion theory might work here - open to suggestions. I’ll pop a pea cane in the pots to encourage the Morning Glory to climb those provided said slimies don’t bite them off at the root.
One huge OAT is I think I should start my own diary because I feel guilty of hijacking other people’s when I simply have “stuff” to say. What do you think - I’m just not sure anyone would be interested in my daily or perhaps weekly waffles.
Also where best to start it as I’m no longer in debt, don’t have a mortgage but definitely need to watch the pennies in early retirement (63).Tilly Tidying andPADing in 2024 £250.62

ooh... I have some morning glory seeds somewhere... I might give them a try!
Other people have dealt with lots of OATs for me today!
Pipes in two wardrobes boxed in; boxing in bathroom redone so it doesn't look like a Friday-afternoon rush job; dodgy windowsill replaced; hole in wall made by electrical work filled; my side of next doors dying leylandii hedge cut; mulberry moved; small shed guttering adjusted; tree stumps poisoned.
I've filled modules with seed compost and sown lots of cosmos seeds (lots more left to do!). So the greenhouse is slowly filling and the pile of seeds in the house is slowly reducing. I may need to buy more seed compost tomorrow.

I would read your diary Sallyforth.
I have some morning glory seed too - MilkyWay which is a pretty white one with just a touch of purple. They have not magically planted themselves sadly.

Well done for the financial review @redofromstart. Are you coming to any conclusions?
@Sallyforth I had a moment on seeing your pic and starting to read your post where I thought 'blimey, just how much gel polish has been taken off?' 😂
Don't be shy about starting a diary if you'd like to but equally don't feel bad about joining in with your news and views on others, you're a much welcome presence on mine whenever you like to pop in.
I'm not sure about the best place to put it, I don't have debt but I also feel like I'm worse off or similar financially and security-wise than many people who do, so debt free diaries feels like my natural home as I'm constantly trying to get a couple of quid and I get inspiration from others and hopefully someone somewhere gets something from my sweary tedious mullings 👀😁
Maybe start yours in the site section you spend most time in as that shows where you have a natural affinity with at this stage in your life
Amazing progress @greenbee, others might have done things but you made it happen 🍻
Well that sounds a pleasing task to do @redofromstart, though I agree it's annoying those pesky seeds don't plant themselves. If scientists and engineers are going to insist on making everything in the world AI Robots and Genetically Modified, could they not do us a favour 😁
Brilliant @beanielou, gwan yourself 💪3
