Today I am grateful for learning to snowboard (ish) yesterday, for staying with step dd1 and her family - 2 dogs, a cat, 2 goats, her dh and their son, for step son in law cooking brisket for tea - it's a long process that he began yesterday evening!, for this opportunity to be away from all that is England and enjoy all that is Canadian, for the beauty of the Rockies.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!7

Coconut Quotes
Leave your worries under the coconut tree
Be productive like the coconut tree. All parts of the tree are useful from the leaves the fruit and the empty shell. Make use of every bit of yourself
(Shivkumar)
The coconut trees, lithe and graceful, crowd the beach like a minuet of slender elderly virgins adopting flippant poses
The sun returns; the lofty coconut palms lift up their plumes again: man does likewise. The great anguish is over; joy has returned; the sea smiles like a child
The only time I feel at ease is swinging up and down in a coconut tree
Apeman (The Kinks)
For I am coconut and the heart of me is sweeter than you know6 -
Thank you for the coconut quotes 😀

A good day today, exercise & language done ✅ Walked 4.7 miles & posted the gonk to my SIL using my free stamps.
Watched some utoob videos whilst shortening 3 pairs of jeans.
Used up some wrinkly veg & mixed with pasta & pesto.
Visited a friend this afternoon, took my knitting but only managed 4 rows 🤣
Sorted through my wardrobe after tea & did some more knitting.
A teacher that works at another school messaged me about a seeing job, & offered us one of her caravans to have a holiday in 😍 said I'd do her sewing in exchange. We stayed in one of hers 10+ years ago. Will be great fun!
Grateful for caravan holidays, catching up with a friend, a surprise Easter card in the postUse it up, wear it out

Sprry I'm still falling asleep a lot. One or two things got done during the conscious bits, Lino goes down tomorrow and more finishing off bits and hopefully can start moving things back into the kitchen.
Grateful for baby pandas, my book (poor battered thing spends half it's time on the floor), easy food from stores (fridge and fridge freezer need to go outside to make room for the floor men to work.9 -
Sounds like its all coming together, @grandmanerd. It'll be great to put things away in your new kitchen & bathroom, giving you more space in your living room.
Did some cleaning, then tried to do a sewing job before I left for town. Got all 3 pairs of jeans shortened, one taken in at the waist & another one nearly done, but then my thread kept snapping & my needle broke.
Made a quick dinner, cooked some pasta for my tea & threw some things in a bag. Managed to get some cheap Easter veg from L1dl, dropped mum home, rushed to drop seeing off & meet a customer with her's, then dashed for my hospital appointment. Didn't need drops in my eyes, so that was good. Went for a walk, then moved my car to overlook the beach. Ate my tea whilst reading my book, then phoned my brother. 80 minutes!! He'd have kept talking, but I needed to nip to Tosco for the toilet & then pick DS3 & friend up from the cinema! Shattered when I got home. Might have fallen asleep in the bath, not sure 😂
Grateful for getting cheap veg, my eye appointment going well - next appointment will be my op 😀, & time to relax by the sea & watch the beautiful sunsetUse it up, wear it out

Sounds like a good day @Thrifty_Taylor, apart from the pesky sewing machine. Hope you managed to get it sorted. Went shopping today and got 8p veg from L*dl, potatoes, carrots, a swede, parsnips, and 15p spring onions. I only got one pack of each, as that is all I need, and I passed on the green beans as I still have some home grown ones in the freezer. We had rain during the night, and some today too. Much needed as the garden was very dry.I have lost track of NSDs as usual
but haven't been splurging.
Nothing very exciting happening here. Yesterday was an extra work day, and the day before, as it.was sunny, we did quite a long walk along a local canal.Grateful for some much needed rain showers to water the garden and begin to fill the water butts up again4 -
Mr Builder was in pain yesterday and they left early to go to the walk-in Centre. Just Mrs Builder here today after spending 10 hours in various emergency rooms. Local Centre sent them to A & E at Wigan and from there they went to Christopher Home to use a specialist piece of equipment (Christopher Home is separate but due to hospital expansion, it's just at the very end of the main car park). Mr Builder thought it was gout, hospital diagnosed arthritis with an infection inside his knee. Whilst waiting for antibiotics, Mr Builder got fed up and decided to go home.
So this morning Mrs Builder and I tidied. I shuffled things in the front room and made room for a sack of sand and box of food (chinchillas), a three drawer filing cabinet, 2 wooden kitchen chairs. Rubbish went to the bins, Mrs Builder stacked all the shelves horizontally on top of the bottom one and moved other things in the kitchen and outside. I said there was room for the freezer and the fridge freezer outside (one either side of the back door). All the pizza box stepping stones were picked up and Mrs Builder mopped the bare asphalt floor (she cut up pieces of the old lino yesterday). Then we waited.
The lino men came, tried to put the lino down but struggled. Revised plan is that they will return tomorrow, temporarily remove one of the new units and try to put the lino down without the L-shaped unit. That leaves the light fittings (wiring done), plug and light sockets (wiring done), drawer handles and shelves and bathroom fittings to be put in place. Then I can start moving stuff back in the kitchen.
I have done a food order - cross buns, a few berries and veg, small toast loaf, soft buns and wraps for cooked meat with companion veg (watercress with roast beef), drinks, oranges and broccoli (both on the folic acid dietary bits). I'll do a big order once the kitchen is sorted. All the existing fresh and frozen veg will go into a large (stock pot) sized veg curry, veggie pasta bake and maybe another dish or 2.
I have been using up ice cream. I've had a shower and washed my hair (after I'd cut it severely). Also cut away the worst leather seat cover.
Grateful for food, my hair not being a mess, feeling sleepy.6 -
Went back to sleep after waking DS3 up. Awoke to find a cat laying on me, so made me stay in bed longer 😉
No exercises done before breakfast today, but went on a walk with DH afterwards. Wrapped all my cheap veg in newspaper & hung them in a bag in the back porch, where it's cooler.
Managed to sort my sewing machine to get the job finished (it's been collected tonight). Cut & pinned a pair of trousers, but my machine didn't like the stretchy fabric 😢. Was doing all this on my ironing board, as a friend had come to cut DS2's hair & needed the floorspace near the table. Did some gardening for an hour before tea.
Cleaned the bathroom after tea, finally got round to putting this month's money in sinking fund envelopes, then watched a film with the family & knitted. Finished the last few sproutmas chocs between us.
Grateful for getting the sewing job finished, planting hyacinth bulbs which mum had grown inside, into my garden, & family timeUse it up, wear it out

Sorry I have been MIA, I had some time away for the Easter holidays and lost all sense of time. I have no idea what my NSDs are for this month so far so I’ll be reading along but going to sit the rest of this month out.Mortgage free wannabee 2022 #826
