Sorry to hear that your reversal operation will be delayed @abundant1972.Welcome 'home'@f0xh0les. Don't envy you shopping today! All quiet here now. DD2 visited with little ones this morning and that was anything but quietSorted and cleaned the fridge first thing. Had to bin a couple of things unfortunately. Took my eye off the ball a bit with hospital stuff and extra work days, but back on track now. It was only a few sticks of celery and some grapes to the compost heap, and a small piece of stilton that almost ran off to the bird table on its own
Even my cheeseoholic dog refused that. The neighbourhood jackdaws soon finished it off.though.
Spent the afternoon sowing various veg seeds in modules. Now on the lower shelf of the mini greenhouse covered with cardboard till they start to germinate. Stops them drying out. Trouble is, to put the cardboard over, I had to take the labels out. You see where this is going. There are 7 different varieties in that tray. Some will be obvious, others not.... I don't suppose it matters as they will be used to fill gaps. Also repotted some sunflower seedlings, watered the tomato, pepper, aubergine and chilli seedlings and cut back the sorrel which is going to seed (it will come back).Grateful today for getting the fridge sorted and the weather being ok to do a bit of work outside.5 -
Language done & washing on the line before breakfast. Wrote shopping list whilst munching on my muesli.
Bought padlocks on the way to town (no prowlers are helping themselves to our booty!), old underbed drawer to the dump, dropped off sewing & collected 2 black bags full!!! (Will have to do some in my sleep to keep up!) Returned wood varnish, then did the food shop.
Once the shopping was put away & I'd been fed & watered, I hand stitched some trousers. Pinned s customer into a dress, then a bag of sewing all sorted.
Went for a walk up the hill with DH after tea. Hadn't been this way for over a year, so a couple of attempts to find the right track to follow 🤣
Ate lots of crisps whilst watching TV.
Grateful for getting sewing jobs done, remembering to do all I needed in town this morning, mum's pleasure at the cd I'd bought herUse it up, wear it out

Another dry day. Went for a walk with DH after breakfast. After dinner, I went to town & picked mum up. Watched a couple of homesteading programmes, she knitted & I sewed.
I drove her back to town after tea & brought DS3 back with me. Jotted spends inyoy folder, then had a nice bath. Only 50 pages of my book left to read now 😀
Grateful for a nice day, time with mum, another 2 sewing jobs done, good books
One day of my holidays left, then back to work on Tuesday...Use it up, wear it out

You have a good life work balance
You don't spend hours in the toilets crying

And this is exactly why I left - I would be ticking none of these!

Did you know that Cannabis is legal in Canada? Proper legal with shops everywhere. Not that the gummies did anything for me or Pip, but it was worth a try...!Today's mission for foraging gf/df nuggets was successful. After 2 weeks of putting up with what was on offer, Pip is happy. Especially to have normal bacon. Both Oz and Canada only have the smoked stuff. Bleurgh!Welcome back on board, abundant. Maybe we should make you wear a life jacket with a rope tied to the boat?!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!5

Tidied that Tupperware drawer, the one with all the mismatched containers and lids. Is it just me that has one of those??Also did some garden bits and the usual boring tidying etc that needs doing every day.Rescued 3 bees from the conservatory. The daft things fly in and can't find their way out. I have ordered one of those fly proof door curtains made from plastic strips, and a net to catch the ones that get in anyway. I wonder how long it will take silly hound to work out how to get in and out?Picked and cooked some rhubarbMade meatballs and pasta with tomato sauce from the freezer, with grated parmesan and lots of lovely fresh chopped parsley for dinner. Not very Bank Holiday-ish, but to be honest I forgot it was one

Up at stupid o'clock to wake DS3 for work. Did my Norwegian & exercises, then after breakfast, hung the washing out. Quite windy, so the towels have had a good blow!
Woke DS1, then along with DH, we hiked up & down a big hill, so clocked up just over 7 miles today. Shattered when I got home! Sliced all the mushrooms that were shrivelling up, added some red onion & some slices of mini sweetcorn, softened then in a pan & added pasta & pesto. Delicious & stopped them from going on the compost heap!
Had a nap for 20 mins, then made a memory cushion. The customer had asked for a green gauze bag to put a lucky penny in, didn't think I had one, but just as I was about to give up, I found one 😀
After tea, the washing went on the airer & I sewed my gonk together. Just need to add on its beard & label now.
Grateful that it stayed dry on our walk, taking rations to nibble en route, finding the green bag, finally another NSD(#10?)Use it up, wear it out

Opportunity for Change?
8 Things that are Truly a Waste of Time
1 Watching TV
2 Being in a relationship with someone just because you're bored or lonely
3 Trying to solve everyone's problems
4 Trying to win every conversation you have with people
5 Doing something that makes your parents happy whilst making you unhappy
6 Constantly complaining about something you could have already changed
7 Creating fake problems to avoid dealing with your real problems
8 Trying to make someone love you when they aren't interested
CHOOSE PEOPLE WHO ARE
Good for your mental health
Take time to understand you
Celebrate your accomplishments with you
Let you be yourself
Mention your name in a room full of opportunities
Help you grow and and cheer you up

Found some lovely quotes yesterday then they disappeared once I'd got the headings set up. Tried to find something similar but it wasn't to be. Progress was made - one unit down to the microwave (not sure if I can carry it anymore), several bags for life moved (mostly cans - think DS3 has taken mine upstairs), small bags of rubbish which must go in the bin (larger bags too but they can wait), bins were brought back and clothes are ready to go on the line.
Need to move some of those on today and a couple of the 'urgent' things. I want to clean a significant portion of floor (moved aside when bringing things in from the kitchen and just built up since the last time it was done). Ankle and knee feel okay but strap needs washing today. Some quick 'maintenance' work needed in the kitchen too. Food needed too (or locate the can opener/ buy a new one/ live on toast).
What happened to having fun? Seeds should have been planted on Easter Sunday, too. Better hope I can keep standing and walking around. What will be, will be.
Grateful for baby pandas (so good), a good night's sleep (2 x nearly 4 hour chunks, another 2 hours after taking my pills and put my mask back on as I felt drowsy and I'm so fed up of dropping cold drinks on me), I feel okay despite eating a lot yesterday (an odd assortment as I'm nearly out of things - 1 small piece of cheese left in the fridge), lots of water drunk (had problems when I had too much caffeine - DS3 asked was I okay), feeling relaxed (no work people expected, it's just me and whatever I can get done - although I do have targets for the month end).
Pirate Update
I think everyone's had a shower, enjoyed the free buffet, smuggled food, drink, trinkets and useful items back to our ship). Non perishables have been stored for distribution to locals and those in need in the drought areas further up the coast. A lot of the guests and crew are affable, some are rude and some are obnoxious and appalling. People are starting to notice us so our 'denouement' will happen tonight or tomorrow night. F0xh0les will have several 'rude people' to walk the plank including some over exuberant youths who'll probably take it as just another experience and some nasty customers will be put in dinghies with limited supplies and cast off to fend for themselves - one 'gentleman' tried to force his attentions on several young crew members, some 'ghastly sober and worse drunk' people and some who's strident demands have made other passengers cringe.

Fear ye not, Captain Grandmanerd! My hold is full of dainty fare, purloined from the rich to be enjoyed by the thrifty.
The Poking Oar is ready to boiiiing them off the plank. I vote we rig up a sign with FREE BAR 🍸 on it, and a pair of velvet curtains onto the plank. This greedy mob would turn up to a (insert your prefered most hated global/political rally of choice) if they got free booze.
Today is a bright and sunny day, a few clouds but that is to be expected. It is still April after all.
Sowed another 6 packets of very old seeds - grow or do not grow, their own thing they must do, but ultimately I will have tried. No sign of beans or beets yet - 10 days since planting. Must practise patience.
Bought some flowery plants at ye olde supermarkets this morning whilst rescuing bargains. All planted out now. Split a couple into 3 clumps each. A few gaps filled. Liquid Seaweed (of course ) Feed bought . Will feed the living plants at the weekend. 🪴 🪴
A little time spent now will reap rewards in Summer.
One laundry load on the line drying for free. Flapping about like a sail ⛵️ 🤣 Aarghhh!
