More flapping sails here as 2 loads went on the line. ⛵⛵Today I am grateful for flapping laundry outside, for all the apple and cherry blossom, for finding a utube video on ' how to avoid knee surgery ' and actually doing it (!), for good conversations with both Pip and dh about the next few days/weeks/months, for dh stabilising the garden cupboard so that we can now put things in it.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!5

Slow domestic slogging for me. Lots of laughs at how absolutely pathetic I am - I've nearly finished cleaning the fridge (4 attempts). First stage I managed 1 door shelf and one main shelf before hobbling back to the couch. Washing has gone out and washing has come in but no more than 2 items at a time. But things got done and I've ordered another 2 ankle strap things. My ankle and knee are both painful, matter is trickling from the corner of one eye and I keep thinking a lost kitten has wandered in then realise the sound is coming from my throat.
Pirates
Perhaps I'd do better with a wooden leg. We left our resort with a healthy hoard after dispensing justice. We're nearing the southern tip of Africa, any ideas on where to go from here. Are there any sports events anyone is interested in - rugby, cricket? Cannes film festival or similar or shall we go to visit the penguins - did you all bring a good coat.
Grateful for getting some things done, for food deliveries (need to do a big order soon), books. Will sleep soon and hope for more energy tomorrow8 -
Grandma, pull into Cape Town and do this trip, it is as good as it looks.

Good afternoon ⛅
Had a lovely Easter Weekend. I too braved the stores on Saturday and bagged me some great swag (do pirates have swag?!?!) at discount (yellow stickers). Didn't OD on chocolate on Easter Day and still have some left. To be fair I can take or leave it - crisps are my nemesis haha. I'm transitioning to organic slightly salted corn cakes... so far so good.
Had another lovely week at work, and feel like I am finding my feet a little more with each day.
Thanks DawnW - I'm getting my head around the delay in my reversal, and enquired today about some counselling through work which will be helpful.
Today I am grateful for:
1) Lots of laughs at work - so nice to be having those again.
2) Unexpected cake from a colleague
3) 4 days off incoming!

15th NSD today Shipmates!
I will be on expenses for the next 2 days as well so I am racking them up thick and fast this month. Just have to keep between the work £ limits. Funny how some months are easier than others.
Grateful for a change of scenery tomorrow, for the kids being old enough to leave home alone (finally!) for one night, for a whole day of paid work this month, and for avocado 🥑 😋.

A busy few days, followed by being exhausted by bedtime!
Last night I went for a meal with friends I worked with 20+ years ago. Had a great catch up.
A colder day today (especially as I thought the sun is shining, wear something more summery!). Nearly froze my barnacles off at breaktime!!
Met a friend after work & we went swimming. Managed to do 21 widths this time & my shoulder feels more mobile now. Came home to find a lovely bunch of flowers from a customer. Did a quick couple of sewing jobs after a late tea.
Grateful for catch ups with friends, contact from the very first pupil I supported in a school, beautiful flowers from a customer, that tomorrow is Friday, laughs with my pupilsUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

My package of medical items came yesterday afternoon, so strapped up my ankle at once. Easier to stand up (was woken up several times during the night with severe pain) and to move better. Filters for CPAP machine provided immediate relief and the other bits helped (bit of a mish mash with oddments I found in the corners of drawers) but a much better night's sleep. I am still extremely tired but I've been given 3 months of the folic acid as a starter pack so it looks like a slow recovery was expected.
My brother phoned yesterday evening to see if I could deal with Council Tax and water bills for grandma's house - well I've been doing it for the past few years. He thinks the buyer had problems getting a mortgage which is why it's dragging on so long but should be sorted soon. He has removed some of the items left at the house and will bring my garden chairs in the next few days. I'll use them in the house at the moment - stack up kitchen items, so I don't need to bend down when sorting through
I've done a food order - lots of salad items and basics like fruit yoghurt to stuff with oats. I'm not sure that describing yoghurt as a basic is correct (must have got far too comfortable when the large ones were always 2 for £2 somewhere) but the yoghurt and oats breakfast is healthy and filling. The first available slot was 7 pm - 8pm tonight so I did a second 'diddy' order for last night and today as the fridge was bare. The big order again included minor 'health' items eg throat lozenges and some household items. I think more pens and a pad of writing paper are the only outstanding items (having used up multiple exercise books and pads of paper).
Grateful for books, podcasts and easy food7 -
Friday 25th April 2025
Last chance to sign up for the penguin tour. We'll be moving on tonight or early tomorrow heading east to pick up cheap spices before heading for home. Any requests for souvenir items should be passed on. Any offers to run next month's thread?
Happy Penguin Day5 -
Stuff to the bins, washing in the machine and clothes and bedding brought in. Floor swept and the pile that remains is all swept together. Went upstairs to collect various items (2 next in series books, pack of toothbrushes, one full tube and one end of toothpaste, roll of tape to stop my CPAP tube slipping off. Fell sideways off the stool I was sitting on, fell against the set of drawers rather then down to the floor (DS3 came to see if I was okay) but as I struggled downstairs I realised I've twisted my injured leg. The food order came early and the man was very helpful and I watched a very good but very sad film based on a real event (Black history month has given us lots of proper films with real stories - I watched The Help over 2 days). Makes a change from gangsta gangs and apocalyptic dystopian dramas.
Will try to put away as much of the fridge stuff as possible then settle down with my books.
Grateful for easy food, lots of veg/ salad items, good films,6 -
Today I am grateful for a very good and positive meeting with some important bods at Pip's school, for pulling together my diary commitments for the next 2 months, for smiling every time I think back to our Canada visit, for the blackcurrant bush still growing after I moved it several weeks ago, for cat visits, for cheery neighbours.I'm happy to set up May. Any ideas/requests for the theme???NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!5
