NST April 2025 A Pirate Life For Me

Evening all,Hospital visit concluded that I do not have the condition that the GP sent me there for and I will need to be re-referred to a different department. At least I don't have to keep taking the steroids. It is ok to just stop I was told as I have only had them for a few days. I am a bit thrown by all the drama to be honest.Anyway, we resisted the urge to go out for lunch afterwards and came home for a sandwich instead. Spent some time in the garden this afternoon as the weather was lovely. I potted on some seedlings and the thyme plant I bought at Wa*tr*se the other day and rearranged some pots on the patio. I will have a sweep up in the morning and it will be quite nice to sit out. I think that the enormous geraniums currently on the dining table can go out into the greenhouse too, it is a bit too early to put them right outside yet, but they need to toughen up a bit.No heating or fire needed tonight. In fact the top part of the kitchen stable door is still open, but I will have to close it in a minute.8

Guess who has broken up for the holidays?! 🥳🥂🎉
Moi 😀 spent a lovely evening flicking through magazines, knitting a gonk's hat & quaffing a pint if Snowball & half a chocolate orange 😂 I know how to party, right?!
I have lots of ideas of things I want to do in my time off, including decluttering my bedroom & possibly laying stepping stones in one of our lawns (will have to research how to do that first). I've got a big pile of sewing, but not doing more than I would in a working week. Determined that I work to live, not live to work. Folk will just have to wait a bit longer!
Had a lovely whole school walk this morning to the other end of town. A cool breeze blowing off the sea though, in exposed areas (as in no buildings, not exposed skin! 🤣)
Grateful for an easy day, a nice walk, a me-filled night & it's the holidays!Use it up, wear it out

No heating used yesterday! Not even a half hour needed. So flippin' exciting.
Laundry out on the line already. Last night's dishes washed up. Fridge contents ordered. Mothers day plant (wilted and sad now) has been plucked and planted out. Living room brought back into order and I am in the middle of coffee and planning what I want to achieve this week.
School breaks up next Friday in LeShire. I am delighted for all those who have broken up already. The weather forecast looks good! Enjoy it.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Did naan bread pizzas and OH made coleslaw for dinner.Cleaned our bedroom and washed my hair. That, along with much washing up, is it for today.Oh and it is NSD # 2 for me6

Good evening 🌓
I know I'm only back at work at week - but holidays Thrifty - what a week you've picked! 🌞
Hugs DawnW - hopefully they'll get to the bottom of things soon x
Had a nice rest of week. Chill yesterday and catching up with chores today. Slowly using up my cupboard and freezer supplies again, and just done a bit of meal planning. Still not exercising much so thought I might start using my step at home. At least I can put some music on and go for it haha.
Today I am grateful for:
1) Time at home
2) My PC and games
3) Food and drink

Sorry for my absence. The laptop hurled itself onto the floor, the pin from the charger got bent, I and DS3 both tried to straighten it but it won't charge. Not been well enough to go out but today my frustration took over and I toddled to CEX for a cheapo to fill the gap until my new charger arrives.
So f0xh0les we will go with your suggestion of drifting down to France to stock up on supplies for the voyage (we picked up bacon, dairy and G**ness in Ireland).
A busy few days for me. Washing has gone out on the line and the duvet went in, many bags of rubbish and recycling have gone out. Mr and Mrs Builder came today and most of the cladding is done (slow progress as it's all the fiddly little bits). They will both be back on Monday, the men are coming to measure up for the flooring on Monday and the 'back wall part 2' starts then as well.
Yesterday I sat on the couch and waded through a stuffed bag of paperwork. A small plastic file and a cardboard file went in the bin. I couldn't find some of the information I needed but managed to book blood tests for Wednesday, cancelled my 10 year review for my hip replacement and asked to be discharged and finally phoned Salford. I phoned the number I had (knew it was wrong but their fault for changing all the numbers), selected option 3 and then told the woman I wanted to speak to someone in the CPAP department and she put me through. I have ordered new filters, a new mask and a new hose (it just keeps slipping off). The woman promised to put them in the post at once so hopefully my nagging cough/ sore throat will soon improve. I think my CPAP review is due but I only had an internet link on the text message so couldn't do anything.
All of those have been hanging around since December, I used to be meticulous about keeping on top of appointments. I'm also determined to get my hair cut properly this month. I've not been going up to the bathroom and the new shower room hasn't got it's mirror yet. I suspected my hair was a mess but still got a bit of a jolt when I went to DS2's. Having the hairdresser cut it every 6 - 8 weeks isn't extravagant (although the shop is difficult to get to when I'm struggling to walk). It would boost the way I feel and need to take care of myself - not just the basics but some pampering bits too. I've decided to change my attitude to some of the regular tasks. One of my birthday presents was a gorgeous smelling body butter. I've used it once or twice recently (after all the 'use up' bits) and I think I should try using it at least once a week and take my time applying it instead of rushing.
Grateful for leftover picnic food, work on the house progressing and getting things done myself

Yo ho ho! I've had a lovely day 😀
Headed to town, picked up mum, dropped off sewing & did the food shop. Looked round a second hand furniture place & mum bought 2 purple glass bowls for £1.50.
Had dinner at mum's & watched an episode of a series we're watching together, then I went to the library & did a course on how to use an overlocker sewing machine. It was great!
Put the shopping away after tea, then went for a walk with DH. Knitted the feet for my gonk.
Grateful for fun with mum, a free course to learn new skills & a nice walkUse it up, wear it out

Today I am grateful for a smooth journey all the way to the Canadian Rockies, where we eat maple syrup and avoid de-hibernating bears whilst waving maple leaves. And for the supermarket having a wide choice of gf/df foods, for a quick and easy tea, for mountains and snow, for family time away together.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!7

Morning Shipmates!
I have bought some bags of dirt, and I am going to plant some stuff in't yard. The planters are going to get a move around.
One plant that refused to get any bigger for 3 years went insane last year and quadrupled in size - that's what 6 months of scaffold shading and total neglect will get you! Well it can't possibly stay where it is, it needs it's own home, and today is moving day. No idea what it is, it was a £1 rescue pot before it decided it wanted to be a beanbag sized thing.
The £3 rescue rhubarb pot is now 3 barrels of rhubarb plants. Ho ho ho.
So it is all looking good outside and I am going to go and play in it.
Full disclosure - the dead tumble dryer that dh dumped out there will disappear via the scrap fairies 🧚♀️ 🚚.
The pots will be reused or recycled ♻️
The scrap wood will make new planters
The dead planters will go to the wood recycling at the tip ( they chip it)
It will all get swept and the bistro table will be cleaned for regular use.
I will use the birdsong app to find out who lives round here in the houses that have proper gardens (long thin terrace gardens) rather than my little side return courtyard of pots and planters.
M-i-l gifted me 2 ornamental grasses last October wrapped in newspaper. I really should plant them in pots. They obviously want to live here. If they die now I will take it very personally.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
