Unexpectedly had to work an extra day today. OH did the weekly shop so not a NSD sadly. Not a big shop though as we have lots of things in already.

Came home and did the watering. It hasn't rained for some time, and no rain forecast for the foreseeable, so needs must.

Evening meal was omelette and chips to use up some of the egg mountain. Both DDs keep poultry and both have gifted us eggs.

I am about to put a load of washing in to peg outside in the morning - trying to get ahead.

I also need to check a bank thing and I may make some scones.

Hopefully we will be taking a celebratory swim and filling our coffers with gold in the morning. 
How about sailing down to France first then weighing anchor before keeping a weather eye 👁 and deciding which direction to head in?

DIY is already happening here - I've started painting/weatherproofing a new garden cupboard thingy.

I've earned a little coinage too.

Today I am grateful for the sunshine and blue skies, for just 4 more sleeps until we go adventurising, for acquiring a Sarah & Duck (quack!) duvet cover and pillowcase for Pip, for my purple pen, for getting together with a bunch of really lovely people today.

HT asked how I was on arrival, (her reason being that I may not take tomorrow off for my cousin's funeral, if his wife has now passed away too & it might be postponed to make it a double funeral). Then she asked how much of the day I needed off! She's only had a month's notice! Not my fault if they're short staffed.

My work day went fine, added bonus was that someone had bought lots of creme eggs & left them in the staff room 😋

Massage after work, & dropped a sewing job off, then given another one. Headed to town to pick mum up. She's staying the night, ready for tomorrow.

Grateful for a sunny day, my massage, surprise chocolate, getting the link for the funeral

Started off strong yesterday with a nsd. Been feeling a little blue last month so hoping to jiggle myself out of it. I really want to book a holiday for 2026 to give myself something to look forward to. I think this will help massively as it’s a carrot to dangle in front of me. Something to work long, arduous hours for.

I did well both yesterday and today, bringing lunch and water to the office. However, this afternoon was dragging way too much, and I ended up buying a fizzy drink with crisps for both myself and my colleague. So I guess I will not be able to count today as NSD, but I am definitely counting yesterday!

@dizzyblnd I know the feeling, I am not doing any actual holidays this year, but I am trying to plan a couple of weekends away at the end of the year, and even just that is helping me. At least one of them will not involve flying, which makes a big difference, so hopefully I will be able to afford both.

Last Friday they came to install the blinds, and finally we have blinds in the bedroom! It is so nice, also because with the sun on the windows the whole day it gets incredibly hot, and it makes it difficult to work, so now I am really delighted with them, and they do look good. I was able to take advantage of the sale, as, even if it wasn't the colour I chose, the colour on sale was close enough, which was great.

Today I am grateful for finally having blinds, for the good weather still being with us, although a bit chilly, and for being home tomorrow.

Today I am grateful for Mr Liddle's magical mystery box 📦  of 🍉  🍋 🍎 ,  🍊  🍆   🥕 cabbage, sweet 🥔,  parsnip and leeks 🌶 and 🫑 for £1.50!    No scurvy onboard this ship! 
Got more 🍆 🍆  and 🍋 for free from the local community fridge . I have no bread, but can eat for the week and weekend with what I have in. I can always make bread, or pick up some for free tomorrow, hopefully. A jelly was made and is in the fridge. 
Filled the car with fuel ⛽️ as I was spending already.
Put £2880 into my SIPP.   Future me might thank me. Eventually.  Current me is hoping I won't need it for something else. 
Bought a big bag of crushed ice (£1.25).  I will fill up the ice tray as well and try and keep up with demand from now on. I hate buying ice, but needs must.
Picked up a N3xt suit for DS 3 for £10 off V1nted. Fits the beanpole perfectly (phew!). It is on the washing line right now airing.  They had f3breezed it. Why?? Any tips for removing/ reducing the smell gratefully received.
So I feel like I have achieved some grown up stuff today. 
Premium bond 🧚‍♂️ did not visit me this month.

No NSD for me today as I had to pay £10 for an unexpected test at the opticians' ordered urgently by the doc. I have big steroid doses and will likely need hospital shenanigans too   As I had already lost the NSD (I know, exemptions exist for this and that, but in my own mind, if I spend it isn't a NSD), I went into Wa*tr*se and struck gold, or rather YS - I got higher welfare chicken, sea bass, posh filled veggie pasta, nice bread of various kinds, bacon, steaks, plus deodorant, a cabbage and a thyme plant which were not YS all for £25 and a few pennies. Wednesday afternoons are obviously a good time to call in.

So stuck on NSD # 0, I didn't win the premium bonds either, and a silly health scare all in one day

I made sweet and sour chicken in the slow cooker for dinner, which was yummy and there is enough for tomorrow - which is a work day - too. I have told the boss that I might have to go to the hospital at very short notice so to have a substitute in place, just like in the football    She offered me time off, but I am ok and would rather keep occupied.

Did a bit in the garden but not the full day I had planned.

Walked to and from the surgery this morning as OH had the car, so free exercise.

On the finance front I transferred some money to ISAs before the deadline. A mixed sort of day.
