Nsd#2 here. Sat and had a proper read through the months pirate rules today. So well thought out. Made me really think. I definitely need to poke my head out after hibernation and seek adventure. I am tempted to book some days out in the summer in lieu of a holiday.Mortgage free wannabee 2022 #829

Good evening 🌒
Enjoyed my first 2 days in my new job! Had some training, and shadowed a little. Payroll fluffed up my pay last month so been trying to sort that out too.
Had a few little piddly spends both days... I need to try and stop those, and re-focus on allocating days I am allowed to spend.
Today I am grateful for:
1) Supportive work colleagues
2) A fun time learning
3) Funny text from a friend
Today = NSD number big fat zero!
Off to bed so I will catch you all tomorrow. Will re-visit pirate laws of the sea tomorrow x

Happy new blinds @laura_lau! Happy new job @abundant1972 & hope your test results are ok @DawnW.
Was nice having breakfast with Mum. Received a phonecall to say my cousin (who's funeral it was today)'s wife passed away in the early hours, so more sadness to add to an already sad day.
Been hand sewing most of the day. Finally finished at 10.45pm!! Took mum home & bought diesel, so a spend day for me too. Also caved in & bought hot X buns 😋
Went for a walk after tea with DH.
Grateful for getting the funeral link to work at the last minute, a beautiful day, time with mum, & getting the big sewing job finished!Use it up, wear it out

Condolences to you and your family @Thrifty_TaylorOur ISAs are just cash ones at a building society that has a local branch @dizzyblnd. I may move them next FY if there are better rates available.Work today and thankfully I had a call early this morning (before work) re hospital appointment which will be tomorrow.NSD #1 for me todayTook lunch to work (if a few crackers and grapes counts as lunch, but we don't actually stop for lunch, so something to nibble at odd moments is best).Watered the garden when I got home - we don't seem to have had any rain for ages, and it is very dry.Had the rest of the slow cooker sweet and sour chicken for dinner. I have got a pie out of the freezer for tomorrow night, one that I made and froze a few weeks ago.Fire alight tonight as it is chilly!.7

Sorry for your losses @Thrifty_Taylor. 🫂
Today was spendy as hay-fever hit the household. £16 later, hopefully they will take the meds. Spent £4 on odds and sods while I was at it. Mostly ys's but £1.95 was full price - boo!
Got sunburn in the 10 mins I was waiting on the carpark to pick up DS4. Honestly! Factor 50 at the ready now. I swear I should just be burnt as a vampire 🧛♀️ 😒.
Got a laundry load dry on the line! First one this year and I loved it. Came home to the sound of the dryer going. DH is not onboard yet. He is trying to be helpful ....... bless
In April the heating comes off the timer, and the laundry goes outside (except my underwear) them's the rules! The bills are dropping from here on in.

Thank you both for your condolences. Hope your appointment goes well tomorrow @DawnW & the hay fever doesn't last long @f0xh0les.

A good day today. The sun was shining, though a frosty start to the day. Was with my afternoon pupil all day, which meant I could walk around the playground, rather than stay in one place. Had a trip to look round the ferry that goes between our island & Scrabster, which was very interesting. Then walked 3 miles with a colleague after work. Managed to accrue over 14,000 steps! 😯
Was shattered when I got home, but didn't nap 🤣 just flicked through a magazine that's been passed on to me.
After tea I shortened one pair & lengthened another pair of trousers.
Grateful for seeing a photo of my 4 cousins altogether (rare that they were all in the same place at the same time!), my HT loving her newly lined coat & slipping a bit extra into her payment envelope, a good trip, & fun walkUse it up, wear it out

Glad to hear the new job's going nicely, abundant. Phew, eh?Hugs ThriftyT and family - take care.Tomorrow I am off adventurising and I'm rather excited! Pip and dh are coming along too, so it'll be extra exciting
I'm all packed and Pip and dh are mostly, so we'll all be ready to set off at 6am in the morning.
Today I am grateful for dh going through all the bike stuff that was sodden and that I'd dried out, and binning/packing it up, for the difference a quick mow of the lawn makes to its appearance, for bees bumbling around, for a neighbour saying 'yes' to having any spare fresh produce we'll have, for my bag coming in under the weight limit (I'm very very glad that they no longer weight the people on the flight!!!)NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!6 -
Where are we on the map? I worry I might have it upside down 🧭?
Made a big veg stew yesterday so have leftovers in the fridge for lunch tomorrow with nice rolls.
Tonight will be a Chinese-style Noodle soup to rid a lot more veg from the fridge.
DH came back from Mancunia with a cold last weekend. It was suspected hay-fever, but it is not responding to anti-pollen-meds at all. So back to 'food as medicine' and I am packing him full of vitamins via the medium of soup. Resistance is futile! Plus he is really whiney and is annoying me ( nursing was never really going to work as a career choice was it?).
Medicinal choc-ice on a stick bought for his sore throat. He can dunk it in his lemonsip.
I don't have time for this.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
