Thanks @PennysIntoPounds I took a video of the rain pouring through the broken gutter. It is soaking my neighbours wall. I hadn't noticed that until I looked at the film, so it is in my neighbour's interest to get it fixed :)

    Thanks @rachmac3 and @Seasidegal58 :)

    So, today has been mixed...

    GOOD
Removed a dead plant from my doorstep. Reused the pot by repotting a smaller indoor plant. Found a use for a beautiful piece of fabric, putting under pot plants in the guest room window. Added a small vase of flowers ready for my friend. It looks really nice  :)

Walked into town (no joint pain) browsed furniture

Took video of neighbour's broken gutter

Sorted through clothes and created a bag of things for Minted

I did my own eyebrows. MSE!! After looking for someone to do them and lots of procrastination it took 20 minutes. They look good! I've decided that well groomed eyebrows make such a difference, especially when you are older.

    NOT SO GOOD
    Another glass broken.

A HMRC demand for almost 2,000!!!!

A dead bird on the road outside my house

Plumber's merchant doesn't have the bit I need (back to the drawing board)

I have spent hours looking for my stack of batteries...still not found...grhh

I will call HMRC early tomorrow (8am, I read on PiP's diary) I bought bath salts so plan on taking a relaxing bath tonight...

I hope you had a good day

Eek to 2k demand! Hope the call goes well, after procrastinating doing my HMRC call today once I rang the chap was very nice and helpful. Though I did swear quite a lot at the automated lady beforehand. 'There wouldn't be a 20 minute wait if you weren't wittering on and on with useless information, it's 2025, I'm perfectly aware the internet exists thank you' 🙄

Oh!  Not good news on the tax demand!  Do you think it sounds correct?
I agree about the eyebrows as one gets older. The last third bit of mine has disappeared over the years and they are somewhat thinner than they used to be anyway. That means at least they aren't bushy, but I use a tinted brow gel to colour and smooth them down and a light pencil on the end third to give them some length. They look much better when I do this.

Dia, I'm self employed along with employed. If you've ever filled out a tax return, you soon realise the basic rules although with your business interests, there is likely room for confusion lol.  Hmrc tend to work out a maximum liability and make you work backwards from there.  My advice? Put all your income and expenditure into copilot or gpt chat. See what it says and use it to query the fairy tale that hmrc wants to spin you

I came back on here to rage! I don't like to think of myself as materialistic, but I just swept my favourite china teacups off the shelf and they all broke except one!!! I'm so upset, then upset for being upset as they are only cups...arrgh...that is 3 beautiful cups and one lovely glass in one day! My breakage count is getting ridiculous!!

    Thanks @PennysIntoPounds and @Seasidegal58
They said they made a mistake for last year as they had estimated on the year before, but here it is again, so not sure if I owe it. What I do know is HMRC always win...

Oh no, sorry for the breakages. You're allowed a little sulk and mourn before emotionally putting them in the larger scheme of things.
Are there big enough bits left that can be repurposed? If they're very pretty, maybe in a transparent vase or similar with some fairy lights?
Or for drainage in plant pots or around outdoor plants to help keep slugs away, so you know your china teacups are still helping your lovely home?
