Thanks @jwil and @biggerpickle
I have a lot of books in every category. Books generally give me joy, but a cull is in order...funnily enough, seeing the extra space opening up is joyful too.
Had a good catch up with the friend who has the countryside cottage.
Then, I had a lovely morning with a friend. We went out for breakfast although the actual breakfast was not very nice. They are nice people there, and apparently they do very good cocktails so we will try those next instead!
I have a soup on at the minute. To misquote @Tresinia511 soup makes life better
The FB came. They fitted an extra alarm for free at the very top of the house. We had a fire prevention talk and discussed what to do in the event of a fire. So, now I have a fire plan. What I thought was a carbon monoxide alarm is in fact a second smoke alarm. So, I need to buy a CM alarm.
Thanks to my friend, the mattresses have been swapped over. I'm looking forward to sleeping on the comfy mattress tonight...I keep telling myself I have enough furniture in the house, it just needs distributing differently. A chair in the bathroom is now in the guest bedroom for example...
I might have a one day a week dog sitting a lovely dog gig...watch this spaceIf I do, that will be used for my treat fund...
I bought a scarf. I needed a light wool scarf and although it was expensive, it was half price. It was washed immediately and is drying outside
A good, productive day for me (so far)

Too many cook books is very relatable thing. Take your time, but I agree you should get rid of some. Maybe if there is a type of food you have gone off that would make it easier.
Glad you are living your best life in your house. I hope when you put your feet up on your own things at the end of the day it brings the peace of mind you have been searching forI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Thanks @markman55 Sadly, I am enormously greedy. I like food from across the globe and the cookery books reflect that. My aim is to have no more than 40 cook books. I've gone from 60 to 50 so another 10 and I would have culled 30%. That will be good enough...mark55man said:Glad you are living your best life in your house. Thank you @biggerpickle for liking my quote!
Today I had an open gardens event. I came away with cake, a plant and yes...another cookbook!!! I know, but it was Claudia Roden...the good thing is I have found another 4 cook books to go out. I wish I had not told anyone about the event and gone alone so I was free to go at my own pace. No matter, it was nice...They will have another next month, so I will go again and maybe take a book so I can sit in the gardens and read
A payment has been made to the cc. I loaded that up with the bedding and linen items and of course the new mattress, but it could have been worse as swapping the mattresses saved an additional purchase. I dislike debt (don't we all on here) But today I will tally up what I owe on the cc. I always feel better knowing...
I need a few NSDs!! I also need to sell something if at all possible to generate some day to day spending money. I've done a shop and the freezer is stocked so this week should be good for a few NSDs. There was a film I wanted to see this week, but won't go. I have a trip to another seaside place on Saturday, totally paid for, and my sewing class (again, paid for) My yoga teacher is away so not going there. I actually don't NEED to spend for the rest of this week.
I hope everyone is enjoying the bank holidayIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Get those gold bits sold! Good rates atm and so much easier going to a pawnbrokers than listing an item on several places and having to post etc
Laughing affectionately at you buying another cookbook 🤣4 -
Dia, think of your credit card bedding bill as buying stock for a business. Capital expenditure, if you like, as there will be a return on your investment. When do you get your first visitors?4

I know @PennysIntoPounds! another cook book. I should be embarrassed to write that on here!
I agree @Tresinia511 it is a capital, or upfront cost and it is necessary. but, however irrational the debt makes me nervy...first hostees arrive the week after next!
Practicals...
This morning I cleaned the bottom of my fridge.
I called the GP (need to call back tomorrow)
Stock in the slow cooker
On today's menu is: a chicken and veggie stew as I have YS chicken breast and lots of veggies
I am going to keep decluttering. I am planning on finding another 10 books to leave the house
Good news...
2 people on a little organic farm. They deliver to a health shop and everyone fights for their veggies. Their veg box scheme is always closed. I have been on the waiting list since my exchange dateI email them monthly to remind them I exist. And this morning they emailed to say I am in (insert cartwheel emoji) It is fortnightly and you take whatever they have. I will keep Mr L too
Gratitudes...- the mattress is comfy and I am less sore and sleeping better
- the vegbox scheme
- I am walking without pain
