Dia good plan with refund. Much better use of that spare money than letting them have the interest on it. And it really encapsulates the idea of a gift to me from me, or in this case a gift to me from the energy company! Not a sentence anyone would expect to hear ever ha ha

Good idea! Also, the housecoat may be reduced after Christmas…..2

Welcome back and I hope things settle with family, glad you're keeping 'boundaries' with what you do.
They're all doing cheap veg so if you've a few local supermarkets it's worth visiting for a varied selection between them.

I love the Christmas gift to yourself

Aw love that @beanieloubeanielou said:Lovely idea for a Christmas present from you to you. Since my dad died if I see anything I like for me from me. It means he is still near me. 🤗
Thanks! I think so tooTresinia511 said:Dia good plan with refund. Much better use of that spare money than letting them have the interest on it. Yesterday I had a long walk with my friend and the day before I walked miles by myself. Today I will do an uphill walk late afternoon to Mr L so definitely getting my steps in

My street is changing. An Italian deli has sprung up and another shop selling ceramics. The shop where I bought my bench appears much more expensive. I don't know whether to be pleased or not. I do know I won't be able to afford to frequent my local shops...
So, today my organic veggies arrive. I won't order any now for the next 3-5 weeks now as I also have the 5p veggies filling my fridge. If anyone takes notice of the clean 15 UK shallots, carrots and Brussels are on the list so I am concentrating on these.
My friend is giving me a lift home this evening from Mr L. I will be doing a big shop concentrating on heavy and big things...
I still have not got through for a GP appointment, or done a wash load so they are still on the list
Todays list
Washing x1 (From yesterday
Clear living space and make room for the new (to me) bookcase
Hoover downstairs
Clean upstairs bathroom
I hope everyone is getting into the Christmas spirit

I’ve been to Mr L this morning. It wasn’t very busy but it had only just opened. The round trip is just short of 10,000 steps so a good start to the day.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

Hope you're having a lovely sprucing up your home day, go and get that washing on if you haven't! 😁2

Sounds as though your street is being gentrified3

Thanks @Sun_Addict
Thanks @PennysIntoPounds I did a wash load only after I read your comment!
Thanks @Tresinia511 I thought gentrification had already happened! Another round of gentrification I guess?
Haha, I did get the washing done...although just one load. Will do another tonight...
The kitchen is a state so will work on that tonight too.
So today I paid for my bookshelf. I found some old metal drawers in the same shop. They are big enough for shoes. I don't have a lobby, so shoes dumped near the front door are an issue. Now they can go in the drawers under the stairs. I will keep a drawer for scarves/glasses and hats. This should help with the space organisation and reduce clutter. I have 3 double drawers and they cost £10 each so £30. They look like 1950s according to the fittings. They come from a small business
I also picked up a draining board. Stainless steel and in good condition with perfect little feet...but grubby. An old one and only 50p. It is in the dishwasher...
I've been eating soup and crisps today.
I picked up a reduced chicken in marksies. It is in the freezer.
I have lots of potatoes in a cupboard. I need to take the plastic off...and separate from onions...onions make potatoes go funny
I heard from one of my house guests from last year who now has tea out once a week due to my teapot and after dinner tea at my house. Nice to be remembered
I hope everyone is ok
