Hah, so true!PennysIntoPounds said:I don't adjust to the short days, I just wait for the clocks to go forward again! Anyway are you even British if you don't spend half your year going 'ooh isn't it getting darker/lighter earlier' 😁If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. I agree about the short days, it seems to me that if I've not achieved what I set out to do by 2pm then it probably isn't going to happen if it requires me going outside. And sometimes not inside either. On the positive side, the clock on the stove is now correct again!LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300

Thanks @joeyjimbles I'm with you with the 2pm realisation!
Today, I set my alarm for 5am. I didn't get up until half past but I have had such a head start and feel positive. It means the things that I would have done for 10/11 are now done and it isn't 9 yet. I lit a candle and a tea light and enjoyed seeing the day come up. Ive been here a year and just realised I can see the sun rise and set from a window that is already picturesque because it is the top of houses. Will aim to have my morning coffee there in the mornings. I feel much happier with the time I have available to me now.
I switched from a news station to relaxing classical. Will catch up on news later but don't want the world's disasters first thing in the morning..
cleared dining table
downstairs living space organised and tidy including the dining table (just a vase of flowers on there now
)
kitchen cleaned
fridge reorganised and meals prepped (salmon and roasted veggies later)
faffed and pottered
Will check finances today and do a tally
Electrician here at nine for quote outside light
Meeting a friend for a walk at ten. Will walk to shop along seafront to see if bookcase is still there
Off to meet friends to do life admin task in shared space
Off to make bed, drink more tea and get ready for the electrician
Have a good enough day!

Sounds like a great day
Lovely to be able to watch sunrise/sunsets. Well done for standing up to relative. "Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

I did stand up to relative. I suffered guilt, but still glad I did it.
Walk with friend. Walked for about an hour.
The electrician visit went fine.
We walked to the shop where the bookcase was as I had measured up. Got there and someone else bought it. This is a pattern. I need to trust my own judgement! Not learning the lesson! Should have bought it on the spot. Now it has gone
The life admin in shared space did not get done as the company was too good. A nice few hours and a new friend is coming over for coffee in a few days.
Old/ex friend texted to arrange a day to collect 'her' item. Will be glad to see it go...
The £200 a month gym now has a 30 day trial instead of offering a 2 month discounted to £150 offer. I predict further offers...
Raining hard here. Glad I got a walk in earlier in the day when it was dry.

What a shame about the bookcase. That's the trouble if you hesitate. I'm sure another one will pop up somewhere soon though.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

Can you write down the measurements needed and take a photo of it so you’ve always got it in your phone when out ?
