But yes stay calm and don't expect the Judge to be as outraged as you. Lead them to the DFT rules (they talk about free PARKING) and the ongoing Government position ('ongoing' because the new Government intends to resurrect the withdrawn Code; don't let the C's rep sneer that it's 'withdrawn' so a nullity).
And in my experience, hearings never quite go as you expect, so think on your feet and pay attention to visual cues to know which things you're saying are finding favour with the Judge.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

BUT, still they come with the icing on the cake;ParkingEye would clarify that it is common terminology for a private parking operator that the site is managed as a whole car park and is therefore referred to as such.
!!!!!! are they even saying????? :DnOT

I see on that article they pretty much confirm that the hidden location of the exit ANPR is a scam.
Anyway, back to work and following Coupon-mad's advice
Will check back later
Thnx to ALL

I've just returned from East Midlands Airport. Whilst there I took the opportunity to get a picture of the entrance sign to the Moto services and they've put up a shiny new one, picture on my thread:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6584677/dcb-legal-cp-plus-court-claim
and now they DO mention 'stay' and 'onsite'.1 -
Hi all
Please read till the endI promise it's pertinent to this thread.
Need help* with the name of a tune that I can't get out of my head please?
I think the singer had a moustache but can't remember his name* nor what the band was called*, but famous in the eighties.
Can't remember the lyrics or the chorus* but something about;Steve walks along the street wearing a hat with an oversized brim so its kinda pulled way down.
Then it goes on about it being so quiet all he can hear is his own footsteps.
Then he has a conversation with a random stranger which goes like this;
Steve; Are you ready?
Random stranger; ready for what?
Steve; for this?
Random stranger; what are you doing?
Steve; I'm not sure, what does it look like I'm doing?
Random stranger; Are you hanging on the edge of your seat?
BOOM BOOM

Hey Freddie... Tell us more!
I did wonder if I was being a bit obscure but I should have predicted you would 'get' my strange post
Ha Ha I am now going to call myself Freddie from now on and wear a false moustache, a white vest top complete with a hat with a wide brim pulled down over my eyebrows(probably not a good look)
Will deffo be spilling the deets hopefully tomorrow or soon.
The judge was very good.
Although I asked him if there would be a transcript but he said no, not even of his summary/judgement.
He said it would be a few short sentences, is that normal?
I was scribbling away like mad whereas the Claimant was typing away all through the hearing and the summary.
It was a little touch and go when the summing up began and it seemed quite lengthy. He'd say something in favour of the claimant, then say something in my favour, like a weird game of ping pong. Seemed to go on for a while.
I took your advice to watch the judge's facial expression and body language and I knew it was going to go in my favour.
There were a few cringy moments for the Claimant.
I couldn't hide my delight and had to hang my head down and pretend to be concentrating on my scribblings so I didn't actually audibly laugh
Apart from your excellent advice about go and concentrate on your arguments I also recorded myself reading out my summing up notes over and over beforehand and I even managed to add a subtle touch of outrage and disdain into my tone of voice.
I didn't panic, get nervous, speak too fast or be too smiley. I thought I am not going in there being the friendly, nicey nicey people pleaser I normally am. Don't worry I know I'm still nice underneath but I had the realisation that I had to pretend to be an actress. I tapped in to a cold anger if that makes senseit felt powerful and a superpower to defend myself, as opposed to a hot angry outburst.
When I was called the Claimant was watching me from across the waiting area and I decided to stride towards him with my eyes locked onto his. I won the eye staring contest.
I feel like I just lost a stone in weight too!!!!!
The cold anger remains to be deployed in the future (in defence only though)7 -
Awesome job, well done, and just the excuse I need to crack open a beer, cheers! 🍻1

it felt powerful
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned!
I've done exactly the same when lay-repping. I'm normally such a laid back people-pleaser in most circumstances, like you!
Can't wait to read the full details.
P.S. I saw Freddie perform at a smallish venue when I was a teenager. Never forget how brilliant Queen were!

I've just started typing up my scribbled notes from the proceedings.
Is it normal for there not to be a transcript or full summary available?
The judge told me there would only be a very short summary.
I was quite surprised when he said that because I thought well that means that there won't be an accessible/published record of all of the comments he and the Claimant made.
Some of them were absolute corkers along with the face-planting cringe-worthy arguments from the Claimant.
All of which would be invaluable to support other defendants.
Oh, and I got the princely (derisory) sum of about £25 costs.
I'm not working at the moment (long-term health issues exacerbated by the 10 months this has been going on).
So my time in court (as well as my time spent defending a case without merit) was valued at precisely ZERO pounds per hour.
And the Claimant gets all this court time and valuable experience for a nominal fee.
Don't get me wrong but I feel like a massive weight has been lifted off my shoulders BUT I am now incensed that these companies can operate like this scamming people AND using up valuable court resources.
Please advise as to how I can best utilise my previously dormant superpower (cold anger)
