Yep if you want a transcript, you have to pay a court approved transcription service, at a price per word. Costs over a hundred quid.
Best use of your cold anger superpower is:
- stay on the forum to reply to other newbies and link them to your thread to give them confidence. We need people like you!
- by staying here a bit, you'll find out what the Government are doing and when there is a Public Consultation. You'd be great to reply to that. You'll read about it here first.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Well done - vent your justifiable anger to your MP and ask them to ask to appropriate dept. why the Private Parking Code of Practice is still stalled after 5 years.
C-m is on the Government steering committee and heavily involved in the process.2 -

It's just that it seemed like the Judge told me that there wasn't one at all.
To be fair to myself I didn't have many functioning brain cells left at that point in the proceedings.2 -

You can always request a transcript after you get the judgment through. Just ask the court staff in about a month's time which transcription service they use.
You can choose to either pay for the full hearing (hundreds - not per word!) or the summary reasons (approved judgment) only, which might be less than a hundred quid, depending upon wordiness.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi all
Still working on the notes I took in the hearing but when complete I'll post on a new thread about Motorway Service Stations and list the essential points.
In the meantime I went off on an on topic tangent, sorry Mrs Coupon-mad
I'm an accountant and I went on Companies House to look at publicly available financial information.
PE states that its income comes from fees to manage the sites and parking paid on site and PCNs.
I think it says that the fees from the landowner aren't the significant element.
I think it's safe to say that the income is from PCNs.
There's some blurb about how they are champions stopping people from abusing poor landowners from nasty people parking on their land blah blah. (AI translates this as income from innocent customers who aren't told where the ANPRs are)
TLDR version
In 2023 PE INCOME £57 MILLION
Net profit £16 million
Companies tax rate was 4% YES FOUR percent due to some kind of Group company relief
They are ultimately owned by similar Parking companies in Germany, Austria and Denmark.
There are 2 companies who own 43% shares in PE whose names suggest they are based in Europe who own 43% of PE
The 2 directors are paid approx £300,000 each
I wonder what they do for this and how long it takes them? AFAIK the business model is so good at stopping these pesky motorists unimpeded by the protection of Government and Law what on earth do they even need to do?
So much for "oh we cant raise taxes for these entrepreneurial geniuses because they just go and live somewhere else causing a brain drain in the UK and they contribute SO much tax"
At least the USA is more overt?2 -

And don't forget that PCNs are VAT-free. Wrongly so, according to a case involving APCOA:CJEU decision on parking penalty charge VAT case suggests HMRC guidance may not be correct
