    And don't forget that PCNs are VAT-free. Wrongly so, according to a case involving APCOA:

    CJEU decision on parking penalty charge VAT case suggests HMRC guidance may not be correct

    Now you are actively encouraging me to go off on a tangent in my back to normal life :)

    So if they are VAT free it would be interesting to know which type of VAT free they are because that can affect the ability to reclaim VAT FROM HMRC that these scammers pay to their suppliers.

    Do you know which type it is? Apologies if it's in the article I only gave it a cursory glance.

    In other news the SAGA continues;

    PE want my bank details so they can pay me the paltry sum of £25 for my costs.

    Clearly they aren't satisfied with knowing my name, my vehicle Reg number and where I live.

    My response?
    NOPE you don't get my bank details.
    Send cheque.

    Anyone know if I can force them to remove any record of my personal details? GDPR? How on earth were these scammers even allowed to get our personal details to perpetuate their scam is a scam in itself.

    Just ask them to send a cheque then erase your data under your GDPR UK rights.

    I don't know which exemption it is but the error made by HMRC was way back in the final decision in HMRC v VCS when they were talking about trespass and clamping back in 2012/13 when clamping was banned.

    HMRC didn't seem to twig that no PPC uses trespass as the basis for a charge!  Things are now different and the EU case is correct.
    PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
