DCB Legal Claim form received: Issue Date 27 Feb 2025

***Update***
I've been working away this week and came home today to find a Judgement for Claimant (in default) dated 7 April telling me that I have not replied to the claim form, and it is ordered that I must now pay the full amount plus costs to the claimant
BUT, I filed my defence, it was within time and I received the automatic reply from ClaimResponses.CNBC.
Today I endured a 1 hour 6 minute wait on the phone to CNBC and was very casually advised that I should merely send the auto reply email to the judgement email address adding a note that it was an unprocessed defence. This does not fill me with an awful lot of optimism. Also, I checked the Judgement letter and there is no 'Judgement email address' So, can I ask the forumites if this is routine?1 -

Happens all the time. Awful, innit?! But it will be reversed.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hello.
By way of update, the CNBC did find and acknowledge my defence, advising that a copy had been served on the claimant, and that the judgement that was incorrectly made had been set aside.
Subsequent to that dcb legal wrote to me once more saying 'having reviewed the content of your defence, we are writing to inform you that our client intends to proceed with the claim, blah blah blah and without prejudice, their client may be prepared to settle, if you wish to call us'
I did not call them
Yesterday I received from CNBC a Notice of proposed allocation to the small claims track, with guidance that if i do not think it is the appropriate track, i should complete box C1 on the directions questionnaire and explain why, and in any case, I should complete the small claims directions questionnaire (form N180) and file it with the court office by June 17.
Question to the folks here: Are there any aspect of this form I need to take care about please?1 -
Explained in the newbies sticky thread and in the 12 steps in the defence template thread, please reacquaint yourself with both advice threads and email your completed N180 DQ pdf via email, as directed in the advice3

By way of an update, 2 weeks ago I attended the Mediation appointment, where I was offered a settlement with approximately 15% discount which I refused and countered by explaining that on principle I was not prepared to accept that I have monies to owe. I was on the phone twice, the second one was quite short where the moderator advised that this would be sent back and I would hear again in the near future. Last week I received a 'Notice of Transfer of proceedings':
'The claim has been transferred to the County Court at Xxxxxxx for allocation. On receipt, the file will referred to a procedural judge who will allocate the claim to track and give case management directions. Details of the judge's decision will be sent to you in a notice of allocation.'
My question is. How long would I typically expect before hearing about next steps please?
As always, Thanks very much for guidance.0 -
Answer, how long is a piece of string ?
Courts are very busy, the system isn't working plus not enough staff, so varies immensely, but I would suggest maybe 2 or 3 months before the court order, with a hearing date likely to be next year
Ps, there wont be any further involvement or updates on MCOL or from the CNBC in Northampton3 -
