Please edit your thread title to something more suitable like

How did you know? That was magic! I was really worried that this weekend would go in preparation but I received and email from dcb yesterday saying they have dropped the case.Car1980 said:I'd do nothing and expect a discontinuance next week.
I thought they would try till the end and then probably drop it before going to court but dropped out so soon was a big relief.
This only goes to prove that they never were going to do anything and just try rubbing on the fence. BUT I cant thank everyone enough in this forum for their support and guidance. You guys are doing an amazing job and are a great guiding force to so many vulnerable, innocent people being hunted by these vultures. THANK YOU!4 -
Well done - can you post a copy of the NoD please for inclusion in the "Disco" thread.
A reminder of you opening post:-
"I feel it is a matter of principal and I should defend myself against these scumbags."
If only all motorists had such principles but most (we only see the tip of the iceberg) see the threats and pay - no wonder this is a £billion pound unregulated industry.5 -
Thanks, it is all about survival instincts, some people see threat and think is it worth the time and effort to fight. And this is what they take advantage of and then create the environment to engage with you in such a way that you feel its taking too much of your time. For them this is work not for us though. In my case also, it wasn't about affordability, I could have paid and avoided all the hassle of spending time drafting reposnses and finding ways to counter them but I chose to stick to my grounds just because of the assurance that I received on this forum that the amount they are asking is the maximum that I would pay even if I lost the case, so worth the fight and teaching them a lesson. If people go with the worst case scenario and trust the law of land, these predators jungle would be completely destroyed.1505grandad said:Well done - can you post a copy of the NoD please for inclusion in the "Disco" thread.

Anyways for reference, I have attached the NoD for reference and this is what the email said::Dear xxx
We act for the Claimant in the above matter.
Our client has instructed us to discontinue Court proceedings and close our file. Therefore, please find enclosed the Claimant’s N279 Notice of Discontinuance for your records.
The attached has also been filed with the Court.
We will now proceed to close our file accordingly.

Another NoD for @Umkomaas4

Thanks @1505grandad and thank you @Victimofpcn for the copy of your NoD. I can now get this counted in the DCBL Legal thread of shame. 👍Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
