Another person on the group I’m in had a failed meter installation by Scottish power today
she’s got the same horseman meter as I’ve got , she said she’s got extra wires and engineer said it can’t be done …I’ve cropped her picture to show meter0 -
@Rosie1001 without confirmation about where those cables go/come from (ie. seeing an uncropped picture), we can't be certain. BUT based on what I can see my best guess suggests that whoever the installer was, they were inadequately trained.
There is NOTHING there that can't simply be resolved with the use of Henley type blocks.1 -

There is NOTHING there that can't simply be resolved with the use of Henley type blocks.Whilst that is potentially true - as you say it also does rely on skills of a meter fitter - understanding the system. Not all in my experience will.My old setup was twin meter - standard analogue for normal circuits - lights, sockets, cooker etc - and an integrated dual rate RTS / with two seperate switched restricted feeds - capable of operating at different times - for HW and NSH.So my home - from consumer unit onwards - essentially had 3 partitoned circuits - not E7 or E10 standard 1 or 2 if using a restricted feed (not all modern E7 have one).I lost that indepence between HW and NSH feeds - as you say by feeding the two effective consumer unit tails - from the one restricted feed - via a simply Henley Block. But also lost the HW only boost facility it allowed for - charged at a third rate - when moved off of RTS onto initially digital 5 port E10 meter. I rarely used - my neighbour with two young kids - used nearly every day. That was trigged via a wired switch to kitchen - not a visit to the external meter to trigger. But that took 3 meter visit attempts - all employed by EOn (well uniforms and van logos) in my case (long before EOn Next)The first said - never seen that set-up before - thats too complex for me.The second said - never seen one like this - tried to have it described over the phone (badly as it happened) - so he too left. The third fitter opened cabinet - said yes - standard heatwise - explained the functional compromises - before getting my agreement for them - then proceeding. That fitter came back and did 2 nieghbours in the following weeks.0 -
There are cases where the RTS and CU aren't near the meter (e.g. on an inside wall while the meter box is outside), and that can cause problems for a meter engineer who isn't supposed to be drilling holes for meter tails. This shouldn't be a problem here, though, since the RTS and meter are an integrated unit. I'm prepared to see this installation going ahead without a hitch, but you can never be sure. Fingers crossed for Rosie 🤞I'm not being lazy ...
I'm just in energy-saving mode.0 -
It’s done ….Loads of issues , took 4 hours , but the engineer persevered and sorted itSeems to be giving the boost as wellWill update more in a few days3

Also .. can anyone help on how to read this meter please

Brilliant. Those blue and black boxes with one wire into the bottom, two at the top, are "Henley Blocks" as mentioned. Are the two isolators new?1

For reading the meter, I'm assuming the EDMI instructions on this page will help: https://octopus.energy/blog/how-to-read-your-meter/#smets2meter1
