The engineer said to me yesterday that RTS meter are priority over everything elseBut … some are very bad set ups ( like mine ) and took 4 hours to doThey only get 1.5 hours to do a change over .. so it’s a knock on effectCustomers getting appointments cancelled or rescheduled, lack of compatable meters is another factorWe should all regardless of our successful or unsuccessful meter changes write to our MP’s to highlight this absolute sh*t showThese companies are making millions at the expense of people like usWhat about older people who do not have access to groups and forums do for help , as most energy companies are useless at giving a proper solution in regards to this RTS switch off1

Shower not in use and will be rewired etc when electric are doneScrounger said:
Those two wires (red & black) look 6mm. More concerning though is the apparent lack of earthing on that 'shower' circuit.Phones4Chris said:
I did say "usually lowish"! By which I meant not supplying at 60A/100A CU or even a 45A Cooker. Yes 10mm will look thin compared to normal tails, but never the less not a major issue, substantially thicker than what's in the DNO's cut-out fuse! Her electrician will sort it.Qyburn said:
She thought that was for the shower. Not what I'd call low current but 10sq.mm would look thin compared to normal 25 or 35sq.mm meter tails. As far as the "thinner" red and black wires coming from the Henley blocks are concerned, this was very common practice in very old installations when only a smaller (usually lowish current) (sometimes single circuit) fuse box was being connected.
As wild half arsed guess it may go to a mini CU with RCD and MCB for the shower. I've seen that where a shower is installed in a house with no existing RCD.

Just a word of warning from my experience, not related to your tariffs etc, but when you get a minute to look at your IHD, mine beeps when you go over budget and I couldn’t hear it.
but mrs DCM who has very sharp hearing (i daren’t mutter under my breath) could hear this incessant beeping somewhere, and it took 2 days to determine that it was the IHD in the utility room.
Good with your new meter.🙉4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . Aint no sunshine ☀️ Octopus gas fixed dec 24 @ 5.74 tracker again+ Octopus Intelligent Flux leccy1 -
I surrender. My gast is flabbered - I have in my library lots of docs like this. I opened the ES-12B one and found the details I quoted earlier, which are in direct contradiction of what you and others wrote. So now I've checked painstakingly and found that the manual on the EDMI site is an older version than the one I had found. Comparing the same section from the manuals for the ES-10B and ES-12B side by side, this is what I found:Scot_39 said:
Which version of manual I linked tge revision 1 for the es12b 7/2/ 20 above and that second line says
L icon ON: LCS is OPEN.

So I must have been looking at the wrong manual. As I remarked earlier, it sees very odd to use a graphic of an open switch to indicate a closed one, so perhaps the ES-10B manual is in fact 180° wrong.
Sorry everybody 🙇♂️I'm not being lazy ...
I'm just in energy-saving mode.1 -
Sorry - wasnt meant to be accusation of any type. I used to write then review technical specs for complex systems and have become a little jaded - so my first thought was - that the Revision 1 spec I linked had been corrected in a later edition.Hence - and only reason initially - for my what version question. And then I noticed - having missed it initially - Rosie's actual observation. From a home user point of view - ALCS on - as 10B - might have been more positive indication.Wonder if shows as closed contactor on 10B - version I have suggests still open - or just interpret as energised to close ?2

Really? Nor have you any idea how any earthing is provided for that circuit, just because it's not visible in that picture and NOR is the Fuse box/CU that serves it IIRC. @Rosie1001 knows that her electrics need upgrading and has said on more than one occasion, that's what she will be doing. Her electrician will no doubt be dealing with it. She's also said how stressful all the recent experience has been, so please stop what can amount to unnecessary worry and leave it to her electrician.Scrounger said:

@Rosie1001 when your electrician comes round to assess what you need, get him to do a quick check on that circuit just to ensure there is no safety issue in need of immediate attention.0 -
@Ildhund It does seem a cack-handed way of indicating when the ALCS is active, whether it be the 10B 2A contacts driving a contactor, or the 100A one on the 12B.
Ideally we need someone with an ES-10B operating a Contactor for their off-peak heating to confirm what the icon actually does when the ALCS is active.1 -
Well …last nights charge was only 5 hours …. I seen the IHD change to the off peak ( the lights across the bottom change) came on at 12.10 am off at 5.10 …
( I was up watching the darts , well done luke littler ..9 darter last night )
so …
I might be now on economy 10 …I will have to watch the IHD for it changing over on the times EDF give meIf I don’t get any off peak today , tonight is going to be a cold one as heaters have only had 5 hours charge

Thought I'd mention that you can go into the settings on the IHD and alter the daily budget from the random preset to whatever you want it to be. Won't make any difference to how much you pay but mentally, seeing less red and more green on the display is a good thing.Barnsley, South Yorkshire
