  • I think I’m over getting coffee out. £4 for a milk coffee that’s not that nice is such a waste of money. I hope I can stick with this mindset.
  • I’m exhausted. So much for a quiet weekend. Just listening to some music on the radio and resting under a quilt. I didn’t put my spending on a spreadsheet this weekend, maybe I’ll do it going forward from payday.

I spent about £20 on makeup bags on Vinted to organise my sewing kit into.

I’m planning a few spends for after payday. I want to get some fancy bedding but I don’t need it and I can’t afford it. I need some washable wool to make a baby blanket. There is a lovely local yarn store near my mum’s house so I will go there to get some when I visit her next week. I like to support them and shop local plus it’s so lovely to buy wool that you’ve actually seen not just online. I might also buy a new set of socks as all mine are a bit threadbare. That’ll do.
  • Payday spends. 62 crafts, 50 socks, 3.49 Rakuten tv documentary.

Just chilling before work. 4 day work week this week.
  • Just chilling.

Finances are looking good this month. Quite manageable.

Just going to have some yoghurt for breakfast. I’m chatting to someone new on the dating app. I just told him I have a mental health condition so I imagine that’s the end of that.

Work is tough. I’m a receptionist. Luckily I don’t have to do much face to face work, I just answer the phone. I earn 26k, it’s not enough. Especially with my pension.
  • I’ve got about £250 spending money left for the rest of the month. It’ll be hard but I can do it. Using credit isn’t really an option.

i bought a few house things like cleaning products. I got a voucher at work through the door for money off a Waitrose shop so i have really treated myself and did a Waitrose shop. I got washing powder, my favourite.

My service charge has gone up to £165. I need to cut a few other outgoings.

I’m learning Chinese on Duolingo. It’s FREE! I’m good at languages. I’m going to keep my Netflix subscription on because I bet they have Chinese films. Ironically I learnt to say coffee. It’s ka-fe.
  • I cancelled a charity donation and my wool subscription which has freed up £17.
  • Up early again relaxing before work. I’m averaging about 6 hours sleep a night at the moment, badly need a holiday which luckily is next week. Last day of work today.

I need to do my Duolingo and then some crafting. Also vote. Nearly forgot.
  • Just watching a film on Netflix. It’s about a gold miner being chased by some Nazis. It has a very Western feel to it and little dialogue. It’s Finnish but it’s in English.
  • Just listening to Radio 4 (semi free). I wanted some election news but there’s none on.

Had a Hoummus sandwich for lunch with a decaf coffee. It was expensive but I couldn’t stomach another £1.75 tuna sandwich.

Must do a proper food shop when I get back from holiday. Hopefully I will be full of the joy of life again. I’m very tired.

We’re planning a trip or two out on my mum’s little boat, a trip to the garden centre and I’m taking my rag rugging. We are also cooking two vegetarian meals I found in the Guardian (I’m vegetarian for 2025). Also maybe some walks.
  • Just listening to radio 6. Waiting at the pharmacy before I go and get the train. Spent about £6 on breakfast and a decaf double espresso this morning. The train will be £10. I’m in Asda, the pharmacist here is really good.

    Mustn’t buy anything in Asda!
