I am still confused with the idea that you only own half a flat but have to pay nothing towards the half you do not own. Why would anyone or any organisation own an asset worth £125000 to them and not expect anything from it. Something does not add up.
There are only three shared ownership flats in my block. Presumably they make the maths work somehow. There are 16 social housing homes and about 80 market price homes.

Let's just say I know I should not be struggling with money.

However much money we have, it's all about balance, paying bills and essential outgoings, saving for whatever your goal is and spending on fun things.

Budgeting and planning is key but life would be boring without any fun spends!

You could try the 50-30-20 rule.
50% of your income to needs (essential expenses)
    30% to wants (non-essential spending).
    20% to savings

When making changes,  small changes often work much better than making lots of big changes all at once.

Writing down a budget, like you did with the SOA, is good and something to review.

Good luck with your PA course. 😀

    Once I start paying my pension I will get 1700 a month. 50% is 850, 30% is about 500 and 20% is 340.

    I could make that work.

It actually works again. Am thinking about closing my regular saver, putting 1k in an ISA and paying my credit cards off. Will be a bit nerve-wracking until I've built up my emergency fund again but it could be a way to achieve my goal now.

Awake and about early. Potter potter yawn yawn. Undecided about going to yoga this morning. Maybe I'll skip it and go for a swim on Wednesday.

My birthday lunch today. So excited. I've looked at the menu and I think I might go for a risotto if they have one. I can't remember exactly what's on it but it's quite a posh place so they might have risotto. Funny the yardsticks you use.

Yawn. It's nice not to have any credit cards. I have 250 in my overdraft until payday.

I need to pay for a haircut £55, meal out with friend £25, train to London £25. Coffees £10, food £35. That's £150. I can do it!

So does that mean you will be £150 down/short when you do get paid?

if so, the above doesn’t sound to me to be the best use of your money. I would have put off all of the above until after you’d got paid and then done them.

My overdraft is 0%, is it not OK to use it?

My haircut is OK. It's nice to have shorter hair again.

Looking forward to the weekend. I learned a new skill at work yesterday but it is a tiny bit boring!

Lovely birthday meal at the weekend with my mum, niece and niece's boyfriend. The young people were a tiny bit bored but that's ok. It was so nice to see my mum.
