Well I did give the kids jam sandwiches and my friend and I had ham & cheese toasties so I didn't have to spend out on getting anything today. Had a NSD today :money::T

Off to Mr. T tomorrow so will get as much for lunches for next week as I can.

Hope you had a nice time Maz. Go anywhere nice?

I have spent the grand total of £2.58 today on a loaf of bread and a tub of butter. obviously the butter will last a while!

Today's lunch is smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwiches. Salmon and cream cheese bought with the weekly shopping at Mr T's. Salmon was £1.18 for trimmings and cream cheese 74p special offer :T I'm going to bring in a jacket pot this week too so I can have the cheese with that.

Hope you all had a good weekend and brought your pack-ups with you!

Worked from home yesterday so it was an NSD but...and it's a big but, the quiche I made on the weekend to cover my lunches all week turned out to be an absolute disaster. It was disgusting and OH and I felt quite queasy after we tried it. So into the bin it went. I don't know what went wrong with it - I substituted spinach and mushroom instead of tinned salmon and shop cottage cheese instead of homemade. None of that *sounds* disastrous but that's my cooking for you.

So today at least will be a shop bought lunch. Hopefully I can rustle something up for the rest of the week.

Oh poor you Mouche  I hate quiche so I'm glad I will never follow in your footsteps :rotfl:

I had to buy a drink today after walking back from the shops (got a bargain on DS's school polo shirts) so now I have spent more this month than I did last month on lunches. I'm working a 5 day week this week too but only 3 days next week.

I'm pleased though as so far the £22-ish I've spent is what I would have easily done on lunches in a couple of weeks before I joined this thread.

£22 is really good Naomi...you should be proud. I used to send £3.10 everyday so now if I spend less I put the money 'saved' into a special fund meant for exercise related stuff. Right now it's going to pay off a Wii Fit. :)

This is the first month since starting the challenege that I'll have spent more than I've saved. Still something is better than nothing.

    Have a nice day all.

A great idea this thread, had not come across it before.

I used to spend at least £2.99 on lunch (meal deal) everyday.

I now go home at lunch most days so it doesnt cost me anything, although whatever I eat is paid for in the normal weekly shop - does that count as no spend?
