    Hi,

Only just found this thread - Can I join?

I've just started taking sandwiches to work and have now managed for 2 weeks only spending about £3 (Fell off the wagon last week and gave into the temptation of a Starbucks Latte and again today, just felt the need for a Mars Bar)

Can't believe how much money it's saving. Usually go through about £30 a week at work for lunches / breakfasts. This week I took £10 out and I've still got £9 left :j

Weekly shop has only gone up by about £5 for bread and sandwich fillings. So quite a saving if I can keep this up!

Welcome Tigert! This is a slightly sluggish group but hopefully people will troop back in soon. I suspect the weather is giving everyone a craving for hot food at the pub instead of saintly sandwiches at their desks!

Having said that, I've been eating the results of a baking frenzy on Saturday. Was home sick on Monday and have eaten a slice of salmon quiche and a muffin Tuesday and today. There's still 2 slices of quiche and 4 muffins left so guess what I'll be eating tomorrow and Friday? :P Must try to do more than one item next weekend!

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Can I join in please? I usually buy me lunch once or twice a week but I only usually work 2 days a week. Last week I worked 5 days and brought a lunch from home everyday. I even ate it too! Sometimes I don't fancy what i bring in so I go out and get a sandwhich.

I didn't make anything last night so I bought my lunch today:
a bagel with cream cheese £1.60 and
    a semi-skimmed latte £1.60
    Total: £3.40

I've been following the diet in "Fabulous for a Fortnight" by Monica Grenfell as best as I can and I've been eating my main meal at lunchtime usually. Tomorrow I've having a chicken pie which I will take in tomorrow and microwave, and some steamed veg which I steamedtonight when I was steaming some for my evening meal.

Well done everyone! It is amazing how much you can save when you bring your lunches in. I just wish DH would get his a**e in gear and start. I don't have time to make him sarnies in the mornings and if I do them in the evening then I can't put things like tomatoes in as they go soggy

Ah well onwards and upwards :D

Uh oh...the crap weather yesterday put me in such a bad mood that I ended up buying chocolate covered orange peel and stuffing myself on the train home. Not good for lunch log or my diet! Thankfully the weather is better today. However, there was a company meeting with free sandwiches and juice. Guess who stuffed herself again. Sigh. Well at least it's good for the lunch log if not for my diet.

It's great when your work provide a free lunch! :T

I've spent £1.64 today on my loaf for the week (they didn't have my usual) and I treated myself to a pack of McCoys crisps ;)

    Hi all

I can't spend money at the mo, as had my Play.com account hacked at the weekend and as my CC's were visible in the payment methods section, i've cancelled everything just in case... so today!

Monday: £0 (HM carrot and coriander soup, yoghurt and pear from home)

That was the last of the soup, so not sure what i'll be having tomorrow!!! x

Well last week went well until Thursday when I forgot to pick up my lunch on my way out of the house so ended up buying a baguette at work. Then Friday I gave in to peer pressure and went to McDonalds with a collegue, though in my defence - I did also eat my packed lunch:o

    Back to routine today.

Mon - Strawberry Jam Sandwiches - A personal favourite :D

Hullo all...a nice new week and thankfully the weather is a bit better.

Last Friday, I succumbed to the temptation of my favourit soup from EAT and a poncy little side salad. £5.55. but considering I would spend that everyday before this challenge, I think it's ok.

Today I've bought my loaf for the week £1.25. Lunch was homemade veggie shepherd's pie and I have a HM muffin to have with my cuppa a little later. I love it when I'm organised!
