Ok, so much for lunch inspiration when shopping this evening...

Tomorrow me n DS will mostly be eating...corned beef rolls and lots of fruit :)

Mustn't forget the mustard for mine!

Fletch, breath deeply, they all go through an arsonist stage so I've been told (my eldest DD, 15yrs literally nearly burned the house down twice in as many weeks, she plugged in the iron by mistake last week thinking it was the fish filter plug and it burnt through my youngest DD's buggy straps, melting plastic all over the iron and filling the house with smoke.......DH was asleep in bed  thank god he woke up when he did!)

So, I'm ready for the lunch log challenge tomorrow (again)..

    xx

  • Jo, the only thing that'll save that corned beef. A couple of slices of beetroot on there and you'll be in lunch heaven. It's a weird sensation, that crunch/bite with the schmooshiness of the CB but delish nonetheless.

I made a BIG pizza for my tea (lesser ones for DH and DS) so I could take the leftovers to work.:o Now, where did I leave those leftovers............ they were on my plate a minute ago..........
    Grocery Challenge M: £450/£425.08 A: £400/£.May -£400/£361 June £380/£230 (pages 18 & 27 explain)

MMMMMMMMMMM I LOVE beetroot! Where am I gonna get beetroot from this time of night ! What have you done to me, now I'm gonna be eating CB roll with mustard BUT NO BEETROOT! Do I drive down the shop just for a jar? Surely the petrol money in itself contradicts the challenge

    Find the pizza yet ;)

  • :rotfl: ......... I have it on very good authority that a great big bird flew in through the window and had it away with the pizza. Clever bird who got through an unopened window, put on the Harry Potter invisible cloak and stole the pizza from under my nose (not that it was under my nose, oh no, it was on the plate, definitely)

I'm in the mood for a beetroot sandwich now (no CB) just butter. I know, I know, I show my working class roots but it's fab. A bite in the wrong direction and the whole slice comes scooting out, a bit like a vanilla slice (another eating trial for me):rotfl:

  • Morning all.... i have a sandwich from home again so another NSL... although i will admit to buying a donut in the afternoon yesterday, spend for the week 50p so far!

(excluding extra groceries/snacks for work bought - i think i am kidding myself on here as i know i'm spending extra in my shopping but it is so difficult to bring snacks in from home and not need to go out during the day!!)

I'm off to make myself a cup of free work's tea with a packet of Special K mini's from home....

I do hope this lunch log will mean i will lose some weight - well if you don't count yesterdays donut!
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....
    (it's part of my charm!)
  • What is it about egg that makes it a complete comfort for me? I love it fried, poached, scrambled, boiled, with mayo, but my favourite (and today's lunch) is cold boiled egg, sliced on bread and butter. I did have HM pizza for lunch but this big bird came and snatched it away, hence the boiled egg sandwich.

So, I'm currently preparing some chicken risotto for tea tonight and extra for lunch. I'll need to make sure the curtains are shut in case that big bird comes along again.............:rotfl:

Monday - £2.30 - baguette with Egg mayo salad
Tuesday -£0.50 - HM mac & cheese (leftovers and a cake from Greggs, hence 50p
Wednesday - £0 - Boiled egg sarnies, crisps and water (Diet coke from last week all finished:mad: )
