    Thanks!

I work from home one day a week as well! It would be close to £130 if I didn't!

We have a microwave at work so I'm mainly doing the leftover thing at the moment.. this week I have discovered how to warm tortilla bread , crispy panycakes etc etc (just chuck two in a seal bag and cook on low for 90 seconds) so ....

I had leftover (Jamie oliver) kebab at work (If you have the base condiments (i.e sea salt, cumin etc ) this will cost you 9 quid for an good high quality and surprisingly healthy evening meal for two and a very tasty lunch for two. I'll dig up the recipe when I get a second.

I've had crispy duck tonight, now I'll just cut some spring onions, cucumber and pack some sauce and some precooked pancakes and I'll have crispy duck pancake for work 2mrw (delicous at work with the duck hot or cold)

I enjoy cooking (as you may have guessed) and so I'll be happy to share some recipes with you people

This week I have spent £0 so far !

  • Found it!

    The link : http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/meat/grilled_lamb_kofta_kebabs_with_pistachio

A youtube video to help you : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xwyVxkWYqs&feature=related

If you have the condiments this will cost you less than a tenner for two people, evening meal and lunch! If you don't have the condiments it will be about 6 quid on top of that

    Some notes :

Buying ingredients (DFW style) : Pistachios were surprisingly expensive at my local supermarket , generally they do add some taste and a bit of texture but can be missed without too much trouble. Could not find sumac for love or money, the dish is still lovely without it. Minced lamb is fine for this as long as you remember to leave the kebabs in the fridge for at least one/two hours before cooking and don't mind getting your fingers dirty mixing them up.

Cooking : Do about half the cumin as suggested by Mr Oliver, it is very strong I find

Cook at home and enjoy in the evening! Make sure you have one/two (cooked) kebabs left for work the next day

For Taking into Work the next day : Pack the following into separate sealed bags :

    1. All the leaves : mixed salad leaves, mint, etc in one bag.
    2. The onions slightly pickled with the lemon juice, with a sprinkling of salt and pepper and a small dash of olive oil
    3. A small bag with the sumac, cumin, chili all mixed together (you will not need a lot of this, it's just for dressing)
    4. a small tub of yogurt

And the kebabs(without the skewer!) and flat bread of course

Work Lunchtime : Warm the kebabs in the m/wave until hot (hot but not scorching hot), take them out and place the flat bread (still in it's sealed bag) and warm on low or medium for about 25 seconds (you want it warm not hot). Take bag out and take bread and place it on your plate, empty the content of your salad bag into the bread, add the kebabs, (this bit onwards can be done at your table/where you eat) add a sprinkling from the the spices bag, add a nice dollop of yoghurt in the middle. Wrap it up. Eat . The entire process will take you five mins max!
