  • Another bad start to the week - 5.33 on a jacket potato, juice and a yoghurt. Must try harder!

  • Well, how can I put it........... I failed Monday!!

DS got 3 days off school this week and am flying by the seat of my pants. DH gets home from work, I get up, he sleeps for 4 hours, gets up to be with DS who has been up for 2 and a half hours by this time (I've gone to work).

Anyway, that's my excuse, I didn't want to make any noise and waken DS early (the knots in my tummy are bad enough) He's 10 so I suppose I shouldn't really beat myself up, should I? How do schools expect parents to cope with all these holidays? It's a fortnight off in April too (sigh)

Monday - £2.30 - baguette with Egg mayo salad
    Grocery Challenge M: £450/£425.08 A: £400/£.May -£400/£361 June £380/£230 (pages 18 & 27 explain)
  • Naughty naughty jo1972 :naughty: :rotfl:

I had my egg mayo sandwiches, hula hoops and yogurt as planned. :A
Is prob easier for me though as sandwiches don't bloat me out and I like them, a lot!

Am out all day tomorrow on a work thingy. Am being treated to b'fast but will take packed lunch as well as may not be home until late and don't want to spend loads on motorway services rubbish.
Have saved loads since I started this so am very very happy :j

    thanks guys x

I took in a salad and some noodles today, so no spending in the canteen for me,

Having a day off with the kids tomorrow so that won't count.

Hope everyone is doing ok x

Aw, of course you shouldn't beat yourself up! He's perfectly safe and as long as he's got plenty of stuff to amuse him, he'll be fine. He must be sensible as you wouldn't trust him enough to do this, so stop worrying. Can you take a bit of holiday at Easter?

  • Back at work this week, so back on the lunch log...... and actually gonna log do it properly! I estimate that I spend approx £1 for breakfast and £3-£4 on lunch, so I'll track the money saved each day...

Monday: On a course all day, skipped breakfast and lunch provided. Saved £4

I've brought lunch, but that doesn't mean much as I'm hungry already :undecided

Please send me some 'save lunch for lunch' vibes!

  • I've managed to not spend anything on lunch since starting this challenge on the 4th of Feb. But before you think I'm fab, I've been off work sick since the 5th with a viral infection
Back in work since yesterday, and haven't spend anything on lunch yet:

Monday - ham rolls and ainsley's cup a soup (carrot and coriander)
Tuesday - cheese topped rolls and ainsley's cup a soup (tomato and basil) and I think I've left a yoghurt in the fridge incase I'm peckish later.

I'm meeting a friend for lunch tomorrow, but at the canteen which is quite cheap.

  • Is it too late to join this?

I bought some cereal this week and a bowl and some spoons, so I can eat cereal at lunch instead of buying more sandwiches. Today is my first day of cereals for lunch. I know buying the above is a small outlay, but much cheaper and probably much healthier than keeping buying lunch. :D

Hi debt free me, cassie will come along soon and add you to the list of peeps on the first post.

A lot of us are in the same boat, we have an extra cost in our grocery budget or eat out of our storecupboard freezers. this is to be expected. some people count their spends in if it relates to lunches, i personally don't as i count it in my grocery budget, or i would if i had a grocery budget per se.

This week i have done well so far, sandwich, yog and snacks all from home, spend £0.... and i had to go into town today to do a mystery shop and managed not to spend anything extra at all. I really had to force myself to take something in from home as i knew i would be near the nice shops!!
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....
