Finally got to the end of this thread!! :D

Louise, you have done brilliantly since you started as a MFW & I've picked up loads of tips from reading your diary, so thanks very much for that.

I'm a MFW newbie, & not quite ready to start making OPs, although I'm positively itching to get started!! I'm already becoming obsessed & have mad-cap ideas coming out of my ears!! :o:rotfl:

    Couple of Qs:

Is the motor-home still something you are considering when you are MF??
I think it's a brilliant idea, & would love something like that, something to aim for ;)

Are you still using your remoska regularly??
What size did you get & would you recommend them?? We are a family of 4 from the North of England too, btw :D

Good luck with your MFi3 mission, I'll keep following your progress.

Hi sweetserendipity and welcome to the thread:beer:

I think we have had a change of plan with the motor home after looking into the costs and site fees etc, it would actually be cheaper to stay in B&Bs and hotels several times a year than the cost of a campervan it seems.

I use my remoska at least 4 times a week for our main meal of an evening, I also have a slow cooker for nights when I am teaching. For a family of 4 I would recommend the large size as you can cook a full chicken dinner at the same time;)

Yesterday I did chicken tikka masalla with rice in one pot, it does take some amount of inventiveness with seperate dishes but I love the challenge of fitting it all in:D
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.
  • Hiya Louise (btw, you can call me sweets, tis less of a mouth-full than sweetserendipity!! :rotfl:)

    Thanks for replying :D

That's a shame about the motorhome, another dream bites the dust!! I suppose the good thing about staying in hotels/B&Bs etc. is that you get breakfast made for you & there's no washing up to do or beds to be made!! Do like the idea of just 'upping & going' in a motorhome though ...

Thanks for the info on the remoska, I've been thinking of buying one for ages, but just can't fathom (from the pictures I've seen) how a whole meal can be cooked in it!! :o Might just bite the bullet & get one. Either that or a Panasonic breadmaker?? Hmmm, decisions, decisions!!

    Interesting month so far.............NOT!

Seems as though I am just forking out for one thing after another and dont have time to scratch my backside never mind do any matched betting of Mystery shopping.

I have managed to get a good deal on some No7 make up on their 3 for 2 deal using a £5 voucher and had a extra points coupon so got about £36 worth of makeup for £16:T

Boots points stand at £5.66 which will go towards my money neutral gifts total;)

Bit sick that I will only be able to make the nominal DD overpayment of £156 but its better than nothing isnt it, still puts me behind with my challenge:mad:

    Well.............:o:o

Went to MIL's today as we take her food shopping most weekends but she was in a right state with her finances, or so she though.

An hour sitting with her to help her sort through piles of paperwork, some from years back and she is happier that she has more of a grasp on things.

She made the decision that we are to have some of our inheritence early so an overpayment of £2500 will be paid this week.

Why do I feel awful though? :o

Lou, don't feel bad, it's nice that she can help you out and see you both happy. Far better than when she's gone.

Well its funny that you should say that as both OH and I decided almost instantly together that the money should go onto the mortgage rather than spent on treats or something frivilous, out of respect I suppose.

It will take our outstanding amount below the £40K mark.

I quite agree with ss. Let her have the pleasure of giving it to you now, I wish I'd done the same with my mum & dad :(
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)

Think how proud she'll be when it's paid off and she knows she's helped in that.

I have sent the cheque off from MIL and with Januarys payment the Mortgage today stands at £39196..........I have broken the £40K mark:j

So pleased with that as I was starting to drop behind, this means I am still in with a chance of hitting my Mfi3 target.

No council tax and water rates to pay in Feb and March which should make things a bit easier too.

Golfiematt, I would just start putting the word around that you are setting up, I initially went through business link and got funding to set up with the Sage software I used and they put me in touch with some clients.

Lets just say I was never short of work;)

Hope it goes well for you.
