I know I am lucky that both OH and I work full time and yes it is a big chunk of my salary but it will be so worth it.But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -

First day back at work for me and practically a NSD apart from OH work money £1.25 and a box of cigars he bought £3.60 (drives me mad but he has to decide for himself when to stop as he doesnt listen to a word I say:rolleyes:)
Thankfully its only a box here and there and not every day.
Just reflecting on how far I have come these last 2 years......
Outstanding mortgage at 01/01/08 was £56829
Outstanding mortgage at 01/01/10 is £42100(ish)
This means I have paid off £14729 in 2 years
I am now attempting to pay off £43000 in 3 years:rotfl::rotfl:
Budget is looking OK at the moment although as usual I am struggling with the food budget already. Cupboards are full though so I just might have to become a bit more inventive nearer the end of the month. But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
After being sent home from work yesterday at 3pm we dont have to return until Monday, weather is very scary here:eek:
Just booked our hotel for the night before our flight in July in the Travelodge sale and managed to get a family room for £12:T we paid £60 for the room when we stayed there in 2008.
Not much spending going on these last few days which is all good.
Take care anyone travelling today. But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
Blummin freezing isnt it:eek:
We are still battling with trying to keep the heating going but only managed to get it working for about 2 hours yesterday due to the frozen condense pipe so we are off to buy some more portable heaters this morning.
Taking car in to get the timing belt replaced also which should be less than £60.
I sold another book on Amazon this morning which will net me about £8 after postage, this will be added to the present neutral pot.
Stay safe and warm today folks:ABut these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -

Seems that condensing boilers are giving some people a problem; can you run a hairdryer over the pipe or similar (care with hot water if drain is plastic). If it frees up the blockage then it may allow the system to run longer which is a definite need at the moment!

We use a double attack of hairdryers and very hot water to thaw the pipe, trouble is that it is a run of over 3 meters with 2 bends in it so we havent a clue where the blockage actually is.
We always seem to get it working and had a good run from Boxing day till Wednesday but once the temperature plummeted on that extremely cold night we have only managed to get it on for a couple of hours at best.
Its such a carry on to get out of the bedroom window with the kettle and hairdryers that we just cant face doing it more than once a day:oBut these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
Hmmmmm
Car has to be kept in overnight as they are discovering more problems with it, apparantly its only firing on 3 cylinders (bit like me at the moment) and they are worried that one of the valves might be damaged (mega expensivo)..........
Just have to play the old waiting game but they have given us a top estimate of £300, still much better than replacing it and if we can eek out another 3 years till the mortgage has gone that will be perfect:D
Being back to work full time and also attending college one day a week has been a rude awakening after the prolonged Christmas break, I am totally shattered already and its only Tuesday:rolleyes:
Sold another book on amazon for £13 which will be paid directly into the money neutral gift bank account:TBut these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0
