So some good news!
Getting a refund of £123.00 for student loan deductions, I don't earn over the threshold so they are sending me this in the next 3-5 working days.
Plan for this money is to add it to my lodge savings account. I usually go twice a year and have a week booked in November 2025 and March 2026, these are both paid in full so I've started saving for the next one.
I've got £310.00 saved so far so will add the refund to that.Debt Free - 4th June 20253 -
I was the same with the job uncertainty, it's so unfair when it's all dragged out.
Great news on the refund!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1 -
Evening @_Dolly_Rocker_ I haven't read your whole thread yet but plan on catching up, I saw @powerspowers comment about takeaways, I found a recipe of greek yogurt and self raising flower and it makes bread rolls, naan breads and pizza bases! As simple as that and takes seconds to make!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe boards and spending & discounts boards. Just had a wee 20 minute tidy of the kitchen.
I'm absolutely awful at keeping up with housework then it gets to a point I'm so overwhelmed that everything needs to be done I could cry.
I'm going to get the place tip top by the weekend then it's gonna be living by the mantra 'Don't put it down put it AWAY'.
I'm going to finish off a bit of work then do another 20 minutes.

So most of my bills are paid, just need to check a couple of the insurances and a mobile bill which I'm sure go out at the end of the month.
Going to try and add £100.00 to my savings account today once I've checked the funds.
Hoping that I'll be due a £50.00 cheque soon from Y Live, feel like I should be getting there with the points. I'll log in and check that later on too.
Gonna do another 20 minute kitchen clean and sort my laundry out.Debt Free - 4th June 20251 -
Okay to checked the points and I'm at 38. Another 12 to go so hopefully can get that up for a payment in October.Debt Free - 4th June 20251

Right kitchen almost done. All the counters cleared and wiped down. Hob wiped down, just need to add the top bits back on when I've cleaned them and do the floors.Debt Free - 4th June 20251

Good luck with your targets. I'm the same with housework. It feels so much nicer when I'm on top of it too!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1
