Yes, I understand they are estimating for now until they get the info through - it takes up to 5 days to connect to the smart meters (personally I'd just rather they showed no info until they have it rather than just showing an estimate).

That however wasn't the question - for people with smart meters, once they are getting readings through, will I be able to see my hourly gas use? I was told by their chat that as it only receives gas readings once per day that I wouldn't be able to see my hourly usage, which I find hard to believe. I would have thought that even with the info being received once per day it would still have the hourly use that it can show me on the graph.

Energy companies only pull the readings once per day BUT they get all the 30 minute readings when they do that. So 30 minutes readings should eventually appear but often a day later.

Thanks - I just asked their chat again and the bot gave me the same info. The chat went to an actual person yesterday and they didn't seem to understand the situation which left me very confused, so in this case the bot was much clearer and of much more use.

Not sure that they are robbing ******!.

Just recalculated gas usage /cost from their figures ,using a weighted average of their CVs (as shown on monthly statements) and they appear to have actually charged me ~ £9.50 less than their figures would suggest over the 6+ months I've been with them .

Competence - definitely NO - but fiddling for profits ?

February 2026 Gas from my Fuse Bill:

    Opening Read 1st Feb: 3132.277 m3

    Closing Read 28th Feb: 3229.488 m3

    Total usage: 97.2 m3 x 39.9 MJ / m3 (calorific value) x 1.02264 (correction factor) ÷ 3.6 MJ / kWh (conversion factor = 1073.65 kWh

Apart from when I do the same calculation I get 1101.69 kWh 🤨

You need to do the same exercise as you did last month about the CV, when you discovered the value on the bill was not the value used in the underlying calculation.

When you've done that, compare it to the value Fuse have used.

We also know that the value in the underlying calculation is not truncated to 1dp.

So truncate it and see how much Fuse has overcharged you..

    Also, your calculation is wrong.

    3229.488 - 3229.488 = 97.211

That's the value Fuse is probably using in their calculation.

They round it because they say it is easier to read, but they do not use the rounded value in their calculation - at least that is what they have told me so far. But I do not have the full answer from Fuse yet.

Yes it's the same issue as before, variations of rounding, truncation and CV behind the scenes that don't represent what's on the bill.

The calculation in my post is copy and paste from the Fuse bill. For the time being it's in my favour so I'll let it be. But it's the only time I've ever had energy bills that show a calculation that doesn't add up!

" For the time being it's in my favour so I'll let it be."

I recall you said something like that last month too 😕

I did. I'll watch with interest those who are engaging with Fuse over the billing issues, and thank you for doing so!

Your comment prompted me to do a little more investigation. National Gas data for February in my region shows an average CV of 39.1357

I've redone the calculations using variations of the CV and m3 use:

    Use(m3)

    CV

    Use(kWh)

    97.211

    39.1

    1079.723

    97.211

    39.1357

    1080.709

    97.2

    39.1

    1079.601

    97.2

    39.1357

    1080.587

Getting closer to the 1073.65 kWh they billed me for, but still a few kWh out. To get to that number they must be using a CV of 38.88. One thing for sure, the 39.9 CV on the bill is nonsense (which I know has already been said)
