My joke of a December bill has arrived. It seems they have overcome the 3 decimal places problem ........ by using a fixed CV of 40.7 and updated the November bill using the same figure, something else that is prohibited by their licence conditions. They have also used an estimated closing read, very strange as they have an actual accepted read showing in the app and web page. They really are a joke and as it has been 8 weeks since I opened the conversation reference their billing it's off to the ombudsman we go.0

My December bill has arrived too. CV used on the bill is 39.2, and on checking from your previous National Gas link the average CV for my region for the billing period is 39.19677 so that seems legit.
No closing readings again. Not sure why these seem to have disappeared from bills but it's frustrating from a record keeping point of view. Also when I go back to October and add the monthly billed kWh used since then, it results in a 1kWh discrepancy in their favour on my December opening read.
Also notice that my December bill PDF shows "Statement period · 3 Dec 2025 - 5 Jan 2026" however the opening read is 1st December and is for 31 days so surely it's 1st - 31st December 2025.
Little niggles, and I can put up with it because my tariff was great value, but I need to keep an eye on my billing and use kWh incase the discrepancies grow.
Also on an admin point, this thread originally started looking for info on Fuse and OFTM, but seems to have grown into a Fuse discussion thread, might be time for a Fuse thread on it's own?1 -
My gas bill also arrived showing the opening and closing readings I sent to them.
Calorific Value used is also 39.2
They are unable to read my Smart Meter so I send a reading, sometimes with a photo, on the 1st of each month.
Quite happy with Fuse overall though I paid the £50 exit fee and moved my Electricity to EDF FreePhase Dynamic in November as it is far cheaper for me.0 -
If the CV average is 39.19677 then 39.1 should be used and not rounded up to 39.2.3

I was looking at switching to Fuse energy but there is a charge if they bring out a better tariff while the fixed deal I sign up with is still in contract unless it's to an EV tariff.
Rather surprised with that as even British gas lets you switch with no penalty. If you join on a fixed tariff, the following exit fees apply at the same property:
- Fixed → Fixed: £30
- Fixed → Variable: £50
- Fixed → Switch to another supplier: £50
- Fixed → Smart EV tariff: No exit fee
So if you move from a fixed tariff to our Smart EV tariff, you won’t be charged an exit fee.

To be fair when you sign up for a Fixed tariff then you're agreeing to buy the energy at that price for that time. The energy supplier will then go and "hedge" amounts of energy from the markets for their customer portfolio and predicted use requirements.hawkwind said:I was looking at switching to Fuse energy but there is a charge if they bring out a better tariff while the fixed deal I sign up with is still in contract unless it's to an EV tariff.

You wouldn't accept a supplier increasing your rates during a fix, so similarly there's no entitlement to a cheaper tariff if you're still within your fix period. If wholesale energy rates fall then suppliers may be able to pass that on to customers, depending on their hedge position - but this will be much easier for the bigger suppliers with a large customer base, not so much for a small supplier who's already offered market leading rates.0 -

And their incompetence continues. They have now recalculated some of my bills and in one have used a CV of 52.9, what an absolute shower of clowns. Oh, and another £25 credit added.1

When you say " recalculated some of my bills", they haven't actually tried to recover any apparent underpayment ,have they ?molerat said:And their incompetence continues.
